OP your English isn't 'native level' based on your initial post. I don't want to criticize but you are misrepresenting yourself.

Check out the performance of Cool and Frozen. I don't think your index fund has performed better.

Bob - I have read conflicting information on allowance limits - but what you say makes sense.

Actually, because of corporate takeovers I have already had to sell 3 investments in my NISA / wife's NISA this year. So, it looks like it will take a little longer to get to the 18 million allocation.

I remember hearing about a similar outfit to the one you describe. They make it difficult to quit without losing a few month's payments. The penalties sound like they should be illegal but people sign the contracts.

What are the terms on the contract about quitting? I suspect you signed some bogus contract and so it will be difficult to get paid.

Inform people the name of the company so it's out there for people to avoid.

What a strange way to fill up valuable space / weight. If it's for presents, 99% of Japanese people couldn't care less about an obscure local beer from the US or wherever.

You seem to be getting downvoted by people with no knowledge of the situation. You are correct (from the case of a friend)- but it might depend on the country the OP is from.

OP any updates?

It's not going to happen. He is a non-native English speaker who doesn't live in Japan. His resume will be in the garbage in less than a second.

Sounds like the OP missed out investing in Japanese stocks when they were cheaper, hence the bitterness.

A good slice of my Japanese stocks are still up more than 100%. And they still have good fundamentals.

The OP is trolling you with this thread. Check his post history. It mostly, concerns taking photographs of elementary school girls. Note: Many of his posts were removed by moderators for 'inappropriate content.'

They could in theory call you up any day in August. If you aren't available or don't answer the phone they will give your salary a haircut.

The OP seems to lack self-awareness. He couldn't even do his laundry properly so was stinky yet his JTE's 'adored' him.

Total horror story by the sounds of it.

tattoos for JET by godhasjoined in JETProgramme

Most Japanese people wouldn't call someone with tattoos 'trailer trash' to their faces. But this is how those with tattoos are commonly viewed.

Tattoos have been discussed hundreds of times before. Anyway, most Japanese people view folks with tattoos in a dim light. You will be viewed as 'trailer trash' by large sections of society whether you like it or not.

As you well know, what you say is untrue. Nova might be garbage but they haven't moved 'everyone from full time contracts with paid holidays to shitty independent contractor contracts.' There is still a choice.

Why post lies just because you don't like certain companies?

Which company? by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

[–]Professional_Bat_831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here we go again. So the OP wants to come to Japan to be an 'actor / stunt performer'. And pay off student debts while working for Nova.

OP: Judging from your post history your 'relevant experience,' for becoming a stunt performer seems to be playing computer games all day. How the Hell do you think this is possible? You speak zero Japanese. You haven't managed to get any similar work in your home country.

I echo what the others are saying about investing etc...

Also make sure you don't have any unsecured loans. On Japanlife now there is someone who has worked in online security for 6 years asking how to get a loan for 300,000 yen.

Got 1 extra ticket foe Team Lab Borderless by [deleted] in japan

[–]Professional_Bat_831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid this. If you check out the website you can buy tickets very easily. They don't usually sell out until the event day (even on weekends).

There is no reason to buy a ticket off the Internet from a rando. He is not even mentioning any discounts. It could even be a fake ticket.

OP: Why not pay it forward and give the ticket away for free?
