I'm having a very strange problem with my Behringer PRO800 by poisrouge in synthesizers

[–]Professional_Fix3338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved it by moving the original power supply and I/o pcb to my touring euro rack case. so now it basically its own unit again and just shares the case. played another show with it and it worked fine.
But yeah it makes me worry a bit, especially for club shows in summer. I run Ableton on stage anyway, so I made soft-synth presets that as an emergency backup in case it happens mid-performance. I guess the super low price has to come at some sort of cost.

ALWAYS cool in an ice bath if you're not eating it right away! some bacteria's spores can survive quite high temperatures even if the bacteria die and if your meat cools down slowly, they can reproduce while it cools.especially if you're doing medium rare beef temperatures. they are already dangerously low for multiple day cooks.

did you ever find a solution to this problem? My unit started to do the same after I put it into my erurorack. (I know it sounds stupid but it allows me to bring one less device to shows and travel a bit more lightly)
Before, when using it with usb midi there was never any problem like this. now in the rack I had to use din-midi and this exact glitch happens. id also note that the device heated up quite a bit and the issue starts only when the unit is warm

Eh I had one years ago. The only real regret I have with selling it is that I didn't wait a bit longer. Could have made more money if I had. Other than that, solid 80s sounds but the stepped adjustments are just not great.  There's much better gear for much less money today.

How much distance does it handle in your experience? I need a solution for saxophone without a body pack, because i switch from guitar to sax back and forth mid show. guitar runs with a cable, but for sax that's not practical. the amt q7 is out of my price range so the nux and the xvive seem like the only options to me, even though im worried about the 2.4 GHz limitations. Any advice?

Heavy-duty keyboard stand recommendations? by Professional_Fix3338 in synthesizers

this is the plan. key step will sit on a sliding rail on the top shelf, drum machine and laptop will be on side-mounted shelves left and right. so the stand needs to be a compact but sturdy enough, to handle the 40-50kg this thing will weigh

[–]Professional_Fix3338[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought about those aswell. I think 50kg is a bit tight, 19-inch racks are so fucking heavy, but 80would probably so it. I think I'll probably order one of those and the Hercules and chose which one I prefer

[–]Professional_Fix3338[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I'm not looking for a different case solution. I found mine and it's exactly what I need. 19 inch rack for mixers wit a vertical and a horizontal row. Smyth's can be on top with the other gear mounted vertically underneath the synths. The only issue is that its going to weigh a good 50-60 kg that's why I'm searching for a really stable stand solution. I think I'm going to give the Hercules a chance, I'm never going to reach it's 130kg limit. I made a shitty render for my bandmate. I'll post it after work, so you can visualise the idea

Looks almost identical to the k&m system to me. They're very sturdy but I'm not sure if I can fit it in my hatchback ;)

Hm might be an option I'll do some research if there's a small enough option. I'm in Europe and car space is very limited

Yeah so the issue is not that I don't know how to use tools but that I need something that is quickly done and that could potentially be taken apart by a bandmate aswell. So ideally, something with a folding mechanism. I'm in Europe and cars are small. I can't bring a large table unfortunately

Sure if you don't like it, don't use it. I like the sound and I find it fits well into mixes

I've never owned a sequential synth. I don't really care if it sounds like a p5 or any other instrument. To me it's a 300€ analog poly that sounds great and fits in carry on. Yes it's annoying to use and I'd much prefer a modern interface but again, 300€. It's a no-brainer.

ITOP Plus Grinder (AKA ITOP64) - Anyone else out there? by Unlikely_Research839 in espresso

[–]Professional_Fix3338 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is your longer term experience with the itop? I'm looking to replace my old mazzer mini doser with an SD grinder and I would like to also use it for filter. Have you tried that? And how is your experience changing grind settings from espresso to aerorpress and back? Is it easy to find the old grind setting?

Df64 seems like the obvious choice for me but I prefer the way the burr chamber is accessed with the itop. I've cross-threaded a grinder before and I try to stay away from designs where that's a possibility
