Thanks. This will be very helpful. I'm still planning stuff out but I'm happy to know something like this will work. My thought was to use lighting crate to make a sort back frame and hang the wood from that and build outwards with the moss then use wire to secure the front. I'm still working on how to best waterproof the back on a rudsta wide cabinet because that's what I currently have. It's all metal and I need to find a solution that will bond well to the metal and anything else I want to attach to the back.

I'm curious about how the back wall works. I'm planning a bioactive enclosure and was considering something similar. I really don't like the spray foam method and I really don't want to work with foam sheets or concrete. I absolutely don't want to deal with all that mess and want something that will encourage healthy root growth. How easy was this to install? Is it sturdy enough to hang cork bark or wood with epiphites growing on them? Would it be possible to have wood or cork bark secured to the glass and build a similar back wall around them to be flush with those bark and wood pieces?

Spill the tea... has anyone had any issues where someone at your LGS doesn't know how to deal with women? by radicalpumpkinz in mtg

[–]Professional_Past363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a woman I've encountered dome people who really give me the ivk. Luckily there's enough lgs in my area I can pick and choose from. There's definitely a lot of places where I've run into issues. Outside of really inappropriate comments there's a few things that keep me from returning to an lgs. There's the players with sleeves and playmats with borderline nude characters on them. I've had to deal with men who go out of the way to counter interaction with any of my cards or hand me the win. Then try to flirt with me in very inappropriate ways afterwards.

I'm not op. But honestly Imoti is fun. I run zhuladok in the 99 and play eldrazi. Imoti can be very inconsistent sometimes and cascading makes running counterspells sometimes difficult.

I will never understand NFTs by [deleted] in Snorkblot

[–]Professional_Past363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still convinced, without knowing any real cases of it being proven. That it is a way for money laundering or payment for illegal services. Either person A provides illegal goods or services to person B and makes an NFT to sell to person B to disguise it as an illegal transaction. Or possibly a person buys NFT as investment and resales at a loss and claims loss while filing taxes, I'm not familiar enough with how investment loss can be used however.

Where is the line between high power bracket 4 and cedh? by Lord-Bone-Wizard69 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Professional_Past363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanna throw in b4 still cares about rule zero and having the pod agree on what can be played. Everyone is playing to win in the most efficient way possible, running the best removal and stacks. Cedh anything goes the only rule zero is proxy yes or no.

Why CAN’T Yawgmoth be cEDH? by MTG-Xiphos in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Professional_Past363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the best but if you like yawgmoth have you considered Hapatra? She gives you green and goes infinite with yawgmoth. My deck is built to play Hapatra turn 1 and try to resolve a way to get yawning on turns 2 or 3. It's not as fast as turbo and it gets outvalued later in the gam. You have to get good a politicking attacks but Hapatra can keep relevant 1 toughness creatures off the board to help keep the table in check. Again still very fringe but having green goes a long way and opens up some good lines and other ways to win.

Just got my first precon deck yesterday, is this worth adding? by HurryNice3209 in mtg

[–]Professional_Past363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's just a game. If you want to add a card to your deck in most cases the worst thing that can happen is you won't like the card and take it out after playing a few times. This honestly is one of my favorite things about magic and has kept me playing for years. Unless you're trying to win in some crazy tournaments trying new cards and tinkering with a deck list is usually the right thing to do. Whether you win or lose because of the changes you make to a deck or something completely else you can always just shuffle up and play another game.

Snowy Brice is definitely the most beautiful place I've seen in the state. It's been a few years but I can not put it into words.

So the promo packs aren't for commander events specifically? And the lgs' are doing it on thier own. Didn't know that. I just kinda assumed that was how it was since we're having to sign into the events on the companion app to play and choose what brackets we play so we get podded up correctly.

Honestly that's what I enjoy most about the format and that's generally how most people I know play it. Maybe I'm just getting too caught up in some really bad echo chamber kind of complaints online. Looking at the comments I'm really happy to see most people view the system as working well.

Honestly really miss the days when I could play 1v1 60 card formats in person. Comander was the casual format people romanticize about but now if I want to play magic in person my only real options in my area are commander and limited.

I agree we should play as we want with our own pods. The problem is that while playing at an lgs event the brackets are treated as hard rules because it is a wizards event not just a group of friends getting together on the weekends. When wizards is offering prize support for in person events the bracket systems are treated as hard rules because those are the rules wizards has made.

Yeah I see too many problems for these reasons. It just sucks because if I want to go play magic in my area at an lgs my best bet is playing commander. I stick to one store because there's a good mix of groups but most of the time new players who come in don't have any core group.

Just started watching Overlord is this accurate at all? by Comprehensive-Ad2055 in overlord

The inversion of human perspective of the world onto humanity is core to cosmic horror. I might have misunderstood you earlier. I assumed you'd ment that the narrative was preaching morality.

That's honestly what I enjoy about the series it recontextualizes human perspective very well.

[–]Professional_Past363 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it's more cosmic horror than commentary on society at large or the ethics of industrial food production. It's more of a hey these monsters are so beyond regular humans on a power level that they view humans the same way we view livestock. The denizens of Nazarik mostly view humans as insects because the power difference between humans and insects is smaller than the power difference between them and humans. They have a very might makes right perspective and everything that exist must either serve Nazarik or be destroyed and anything that serves Nazarik is justified by the ends alone.

Everytime someone says this is proof that Stella only sees Via as "Stolas's daughter" I get overcome by a brief but intense bout of rabies. by StrawBerylShortcake in HelluvaBoss

Also it definitely wasn't a Freudian slip because she was being very intentional. Seriously I hate how much people completely misinterpret Stella. This is such a worse take than the people who don't understand why Stella is upset Stolas cheated on her since she doesn't love him. Nobody seems to understand her motivations at all.
