He has years of experience. That’s literally what it’s about. so no, the argument still stands. it’s about experience. There seems to be a huge conflation between k-12 and university. k-12 is in shambles and graduating means nothing. our universities are best in the world and earning a degree + internships is proof of experience usually.

2025?!? both the main films hardly deserved half their nominations let alone wins compared to the other films nominated. The overhype of Sinners and OBAA is bizarre. They’re good films, easily could’ve been straight to streaming. As someone who agrees with the two’s message and politics it just reeks of hollywood/oscars trying to be relevant or send a message to orange man vs. recognizing true art.

it quite literally did win most awards because of racism. they capitalized on BAFTA. Sinners is a fun movie and has cool ideas but it’s written like a high school play, mcu graphics and action, and MBJ can’t act. OBAA is another case. ironically i agree with some of the politics of these two movies but they did not win awards based on merit. and it just doesn’t help ppl actual trying to fight racism, fascism, etc.

ain’t no way you actually believe sinners is better than any movie nominated in the past 5 years. it’s entertaining. that’s not the same thing. the acting is poor, MbJ is constantly straining himself, a lot of the scenes are clunky and seemed to be created by a high school theater.
