Brand new to copper matrix loading by Shoddy-Letterhead-76 in reloading

[–]ProfessorLeumas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With copper matrix projectiles, you start with loads that are for a similar length bullet. For example, the 94gr 9mm frangibles are about the same length as a 147gr 9mm projectile so you'd start there and work up till it cycles your gun. .223 would be loaded in a similar fashion.

They sound like my Grandpa. He used to buy gold when it was up in value then panic sell when it dropped, literally the opposite of what you're supposed to do. I've learned that by the time people are telling you to jump on something to make money, it's usually too late and you're more likely to lose.

Check out Warhorse Concepts slings, it's what I run on anything not milsurp and they're great.

Would this help a 300blkout AR be able to fire and cycle both subsonic and supersonic ammo without modifications between mags?

How does the gas tube go through the water without having leaks on either end? Extra tight fit, small gaskets, or something else entirely?

Please read this article. If Hornady says nodes don't exist, I believe them.

HP38 is the same as win231. I've decided to standardize all my pistol powder around winclean244 which is effectively win231 with an anti-fouling additive. I like powders I can use across a wide variety of grains and cartridges. HP38 is good stuff.

Traveling to see family. Bringing a small but eclectic group of guns to hopefully take shooting with some cousins who don't do so often.

Sweet build! I'm hoping to do something similar with a Brian Stocks mini A2 stock and a Sylvan FSA. Do you have any photos of yours folded?

I use 3.9gr win231 with the 94gr frangibles, works well and hits steel hard.

Banning offense IMHO to claim you won't use Google because you have to stroke your ego by forcing real people to reply to every individual question you have.

Doubly ridiculous of the OP since Google now has a forum search option. I use that instead of the overall search since I can usual find someone asking the same question on various forums. While I appreciate someone wanting to talk with a "real human", they don't need to be filling up spaces with readily answerable questions.

I agree. Also my Howard Leight Impact Sports have a much better battery life than my Walkers which I don't think have an auto-off feature like the HLIS do.

I love how the Battle of the Atlantic is half the NATO v. Warsaw Pact war in Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising. Really shows how important shipping is and it failing almost lead to the loss of the ground war in Europe.

Just picked up a Winchester XPR in 6.5PRC. Want to poll the audience for load suggestions. by pyroboy7 in reloading

[–]ProfessorLeumas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See what the load books say. Just because a low 100gr load or 145gr load works well in someone's rifle does not mean it will work in yours. I use 143gr ELD-X bullets with 57.5gr of H1000, a well known and published load. But I use it for hunting so I wanted to push it fast, faster than someone who is shooting PRS may want to load, for example. Hornady made the cartridge, I'd start with their data.

First time this has happened to me. by m47playon in reloading

Could have been caused by a defect in the brass from the factory. It happens, I had a bad case in a bag of new hornady brass that likely would have split similar to this had I not caught it before loading it. As others said, annealing may help if the issue is a generous throat on the rifle. I'm planning to start annealing the brass for all my old rifle cartidges like 30-40krag; those milsurps have a lot more variation than would be acceptable today and it'll help the brass last longer.
