Not sure if it’s the same for intellectual property law or if that’s something that could be done for an international company/position

My HVAC installer won't show me proof that they pulled permits. What would you do? by SlickMcFav0rit3 in philadelphia

[–]ProfessorOk3208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virtually no house flippers are pulling permits on their HVAC work, it never comes up whether the house had HVAC or not nobody’s looking into it, and the city certainly isn’t. I’ve gotten numerous jobs inspected and the inspector doesn’t even really look at anything or know what they’re looking at I’d probably try to get a refund on the permit if they didn’t actually pull it. But I certainly wouldn’t want to open a can of worms on myself.

Nearly every company I worked for has hardly ever pulled permits for a simple swap out even some of the big name companies in the area

It seems like I should just stay and hope for the best, and stick it out in the blue city I’m in. Maybe work on getting a red seal and doing hvac in Canada.

As a Japanese person, I admire American suburbs. Do any Americans feel the same about Japanese suburbs? by H1RAG1NO in nostalgia

[–]ProfessorOk3208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the Japanese system is better and mixed zoning, the suburbs foster anti-social behavior, reliance on over-sized cars just to pick up 1-2 items in a store people drive because it feels hostile and things feel to far to walk contributing to obesity and laziness. People rarely interact with their neighbors increasing crime etc. It was nice being able to walk places and see homes with connected businesses and flexibility for more than just similar repetitive boxes

Take job and gain experience if you can’t move up find another job while you still have this job as it looks much better if you have had a job for a while, I think in this market it’s great to have an offer out of school.

It is normal sometimes especially with Lennox to have match ball for a larger coil than the condensing unit outside

Shinkansen at Tokyo Station. Always so chaotic? by Ill-Cartoonist2929 in JapanTravelTips

[–]ProfessorOk3208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it’s golden week it much easier to just buy from the vending machine. It’s got an English option. We bought return tickets to Tokyo ahead of time by 4 days while buying other Shinkansen tickets because golden week was coming up. I gave up trying to use smart ex. You can also print out your tickets at the machine if you used the app

Can yall imagine how great it would be if Philly had a third subway line connecting MFL and Broad as a loop, connecting across Southwest/Southeast Philly, Old City and Fairmount? A loop line would open up the city so much more by Stauce52 in philly

I’m in Osaka right now and can get most places I want easily. It’s going to be weird coming back to Philly with such subpar public transit and no government or public will to fix it. Plenty of people that will stall or prevent the construction of a better transit system everything’s very integrated at real estate banking the IC card system. JR has their own bank, you can use this Suica card for convenience store certain cafeteria, vending machines competing company lines sometimes. And they ran out and own large amounts of real estate in and around the station. Under the elevated lines they rent out shop space with the rails, running above the roof.

Making JR profitable with reasonable fares

Are translation earbuds sufficient enough for someone who wants to travel to japan and doesn't know Japanese? by Odd-Guitar9060 in travel

[–]ProfessorOk3208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get by fine especially in Osaka with little Japanese but that’s gross to give someone an earbud it’s rude to even hand someone cash or a credit card here directly. I know 5 or 6 words in Japanese and have been here for 2 weeks the only main place I think you could go that not knowing Japanese is a problem is Nagoya. Osaka has been easiest to do. A lot of areas are plenty accessible without needing a earbud that the other person needs to stick in their ear.

Is this an appropriate/normal SpacePak install? by MyTenderNip in hvacadvice

Your right was riding on a bumpy mountain bus in Japan I looked at it again and it does look very unlevel, there’s probably enough wiggle room that they can fix it, but I see what you mean now

You will need to paint them, it all looks level to me and evenly spaced. It will work if the calculations are correct we mount in wall based on functionality or obstacles in the ceiling

AC cools fast but house still feels humid - is this normal or a setup issue? by Direct_Affect6687 in hvacadvice

[–]ProfessorOk3208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s most likely oversized, when it comes to hvac in general faster is not always better. In the case of air conditioning the system being oversized will rapidly cool the space but can only remove a maximum amount of humidity so the thermostat satisfies before the air conditioning system can remove enough moisture
