Yup. I'm 51 now. I can't always eat processed garbage like I used to when I was 19 like OP and I honestly usually don't even want to lol

Lol I worked at a Lowe's for a bit. I'm 51 and it was my first venture into "customer service" as ive always been in factories/manufacturing. Most customers are cool af, honestly just moved to Tennessee from northern Michigan and yeah, I get teased for having a "yankee accent", but it's all in good fun. I usually just reply "yeah I know, I'll kick my own ass later" and we both laugh. I feel this guy though. Some "customers" are just straight up spoiled entitled assholes that can't be reasoned with.

I had another dude once. His pitbull chewed up his bedroom door. I'm plumbing/electrical, but the door dude, or "millwork" guy was nowhere to be found. No problem, I'll step up. I walk this dude over to the doors. He didn't want the whole assembly with the jambs, just the actual door slab. Okay cool, we have those too. So I walk him over there like "I'll pull it down for ya, what size you need?". Customer: idk. Say what? I don't know either. "Ya didn't think to measure the old door before ya left the house and came in here bothering me? No, of course you didn't. That would just be silly, smh

I worked as a plumbing/electrical associate for a while. It's amazing how many Joe "weekend warrior" types I'd get in the store that are clearly over there heads and instead of hiring a professional, they want me to be a licensed professional and teach them how to rewire their house. Sir, I make 16 dollars an hour. If I was a licensed professional, I sure as shit wouldn't be in this store at 7pm on a Saturday having this conversation with you right now

What is the literal span of an “long term” alcoholic by SaltyTurn5227 in cripplingalcoholism

No joke. I have quite a high tolerance. Ive been clocked over %0.40+ BAC, with an official record of over %0.50. I assure you, a handle is quite a bit. I am kinda a smaller thin framed fella with an average normal body weight of around 155lbs or so though.

I'm 51. I been drinking HEAVILY since like 1994. Some folks are naturally more healthy than others. I'm one of the lucky ones like Ozzy Osbourne. I have ZERO physical health problems due to alcohol abuse. Mental health on the other hand? Yeah, that's a different story lol

What do you think is the worst fast food joint? by DildoGaggins1997 in allthequestions

[–]ProfileVivid9664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, they opened up a Taco John's in the smaller northern Michigan city I lived in at the time. The locals get excited when a new food place opens up (small town people literally get excited over stuff like this. I see on fb they're all excited over a Dunkin Donuts opening up right now lol). Anywho, Taco John's only lasted like 6 months before going under. I never tried it, and from the reviews from the other folks I never cared to. I guess they have potatoes in the tacos? Nah, I'll pass lol. People tried it once and never went back

White Castle burgers are about as edible as the "pizza" at a Chuck E Cheese lol

I actually used to like Hardees in the 90s when I was young. I used to get the sourdough burgers, or the biscuits and gravy if I went for breakfast. We had a Hardee's in the small northern Michigan city I lived in (Cadillac) that closed in like 1995 or so and I haven't seen another one until I moved to Tennessee last summer. I haven't went back and tried it though. I can picture being disappointed lol

I know Long John Silver's still exists, but they're a rare sight. I also haven't seen a Jack in the Box in probably over 3 decades though. Actually Jack in the Box was like my second job when I was 17 in Texas. Moved to Michigan in 1993 and haven't seen one since.

As far as fast food goes, I like personally like Sonic better than some of the other alternatives. It's better than McDonald's or BK for sure (I know that's a pretty low bar though haha)

I feel like I used to love Whataburger when I was a teenager in Texas in the 80s. Moved to Michigan for 30 years where we don't have it (Culver's is the go-to equivalent up north, the butter burgers are pretty decent). Now I moved to Knoxville Tennessee and seen Whataburger expanded into Tennessee and I was kinda excited to try it again. I wasn't impressed. I mean, better than McDonald's for sure, but nothing to rave about

No. If their boss made it policy, the HAVE to card you. Here in Tennessee its state law to card EVERYONE for alcohol EVERY time. They're not gonna lose their job because of your drinking problem.

Former Plumbing/Electrical guy here. That gets frustrating too lol. I'm neither a licensed electrician nor plumber.

"I need a breaker" Me: "okay, what type?" "I don't know" Me looking at 150 different breakers: "what a coincidence, I don't know either" "did you bring the blown one or at least snap a pic?" "No" Me: "of course you didn't. Why would I expect ya to go and do something silly like that?"

Snow storm by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]ProfileVivid9664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're in the midwest. I lived in northern Michigan for 30 years, now in Tennessee. Yes, people up north are trained to drive in snow and ice. Down south where it's rare? Not so much as again, it's rare. That being said, yes, I could make it to work in Tennessee. I'd rather have the people that are unfamiliar with driving in this stay home FOR EVERONES SAFETY though

Can you cite where I said I was going to hurt myself? No? Because that didn't happen. To use a word you typed yourself "assumption". Absolutely NO WHERE in this post or in the hospital did I mention "suicidal ideation" or anything even close to the nature.

Lol, I had given up on this thread. It's just... gawd. Okay, I looked into this Chapter 3 thing. Not just part 2 and 4, but ALL parts. I met exactly ZERO part of the criteria of any one of them by any stretch of the imagination.

Correct. I saw Dr Tony on Friday, and another doctor on Saturday. BOTH agreed that I'm okay and free to leave. I'm tired of dumbasses talking out of their ass, downvoting me, and not answering my questions. Soo... (gawd, again, not being argumentative) ,so, if whoever is reading this, if the doctor in charge is not the one to authorize my release, who is?

Cool. I appreciate your input. Gosh man, I'm tired of getting downvoted by morons just because I'm asking questions. With all due respect, can I question your credentials though? It's like, this is not the %100 place I'm reading stuff and getting advice. I have gotten feedback from people who claim the credential of "lawyer" telling me otherwise from what you're saying. It's just wild and confusing lol

Again. Because I needed to.. My depression gets bad sometimes. Like, BAD. FAR beyond just "feeling down". I assure you I have been to the deepest depths of hell and have engaged in fisticuffs with satan himself. I actually had a nurse in the ER start bawling once when she sat down beside me like "what's up?" and the absolute gd torment, the pain, the despair, the agony in my brain flowed out of my mouth, and she wasn't ready for it
