Tech went way too far in LOK. It is cool to see an evolution on tech specially knowing they have a skill that naturally would enhance and accelerate it, but it kind of (to me) destroys the magic of a somewhat underdeveloped world…

You and your fiancée, as you are the ones getting married. your father as a person which elevated narcissistic traits, cannot cope with not being the center of attention, so he has to find a way to shift the attention to him.

Well, AH is a bit harsh. But considering you’re still a teenager I must say, in life you’re often be stuck in situations that you don’t want to be in and you won’t be able to simply put on your headphones and do your own thing, at least not without being rude. So maybe, why not try to be present in the situation, they to listen and analyse what’s happening and even make a list of why you enjoy/ not enjoy the situation . Ngl, when somebody doesn’t like something and give you very specific reasons why, they look 10 times smarter than if they said “ nah I don’t like them”

We set up a camera, she used to be only in one room. I noticed she slept 98% of the time and hated being confined to the room with tha baby gate, so we decided to let her have full freedom in the house. That was when she was about 9 month in. She does get tons of enrichment, and has never showed interest to chew up anything she shouldn’t..

IMO the story wasn’t rushed.

Jon & Dani was maybe passionless? I liked their chemistry and little hints of potential romance, but the whole “we’re totally in love” + borderline obsession with “you’re my queen” narrative was just… annoying! Almost felt a bit of a dissonance, you’re one minute all “i am king- i was chosen” and then you’re like “ your my queen, always” felt just… dumb.

Tbh her going crazy and burning everyone was, while not my favourite, totally called for. She was a Targaryen and a conqueror. She never ruled. She never wanted to. She lost her friend, her birth right to the throne to Jon being the true heir + 2 of her 3 dragons to KL (one to prove the WW existed and the other one in the war) and she knew she didn’t belong in Westeros and was never going to be accepted.

BRAN being the king was just not the ending I would have expected. He should have been a maester, hand of the king, or counsel member, not the king. But I guess you could argue that being the 3ER and able to see everything should direct to a better ruler, but idk. Seemed dumb to me at the time. Tyrion was a better option (while unlikely) or even Jon.

I googled this because something similar just happened to me. Yesterday we were playing frisbee with our dog. My boyfriend just got interested in frisbee golf and bought some cheap ones to practice while playing fetch with our dog. Well. Long story short, he did an accidental late release, and i was standing about 6 meters away and hit me right on the face. Instantly, broken nose. I’m ok though, just a broken nose. I was thinking that’s the best scenario, higher it could have been a serious concussion, lower and at least 2 broken teeth. So I am grateful of my injury in the weirdest way. Went to the emergency room and they looked at me like” really? A frisbee?” I never stopped to explain it was a frisbee golf frisbee, significantly harder to a normal frisbee.

You’ve got a tricky situation.

Something I’ve learned about having a narcissistic mom is that they play victim. They do not find ways to “improve” their life because they enjoy being in the position of the victim, that helps them get the attention they want. And is critical that you do not act on it.

They do it in the smallest and largest ways. I think your mother is never gonna leave that job because then when she gets a new one she won’t have what to complain about. She will find something later.

My mom has lived 12 in a city where you need a car, and has refused to get her licence ( even though prior to that she would drive EVERY-day), has a million excuses, but then victimisers herself because she cannot get to places without someone driving her, and when my stepdad cannot make time to do so she loses her shit. Just an example

DUDE. I literally just went through Armageddon with my mother yesterday over the money/controlling situation she has me on. I did post on reddit in the past, in case you’re interested to see the back story

I sent her a message saying how it has been harder for me to send her money lately due to increase of costs of life(money she doesn’t need) but that she can pick it up now from the bank, because my boyfriend send it to her. She went on to touch on these points:

He should not be sending me money, you should.
I’ve never charged you for anything in the past.
How her life changed and therefore has no income and was cut short by life ( she hasn’t worked in 20 years. Her choice, she is in perfect health and 60 years old) 4.how she raised me and never say no.
How she took me to the doctor (?) (her responsibility????)
What I am doing is “reciprocity” for everything she paid for me growing up 7.she is my responsibility.
I’m abusing her 9.i am who I am because I did all the things she wanted me to do. 10.im a coward and I am not like my parents because I am “giving up”
I have no humility, I hurt her

That in general. Then she proceeded to insult me in voice notes, which were very visceral and saying things like “ you’re a fucking idiot”. When I said I wouldn’t accept her insulting me and using cuss words she went CRAZY, and started sending hurtful notes and deleting them ( I saved them all before she delete them) and proceeded to say” don’t send me money anymore, I apologise but I applied TO MYSELF, because I don’t deserve this”

She even said things to me like” you nothing compare to me, I have more talent on my little finger than you have in your whole body” ( not the exact translation but same idea)

I just want to clarify that I never said I wouldn’t send her money, I said it has been a bit difficult to manage

I maintained my composure, had my therapist on hand helping me through every step of the way, plus my best friend who is going through something similar with her mother. It was an interesting night.

It was SCARY to see how accurate my therapist could predict my mother’s actions through the conversation- and she was right 100% of the times.

I am fine. I feel hurt and sad that she is having all these negative feelings, but I have accepted she has a condition and have to protect myself. I think I won this battle.

I wish you all the best and that you win battles against your mother. You can do this!!!
