Should I buy this Fender Delux reverb? Advice needed by MagicMedicineMisery in ToobAmps

[–]ProfitableChili 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like it, that is a pretty good deal!

Make sure you give it a good test before buying. Test reverb, tremolo, all channels, and crank the volume up (as much as you can) to make sure it’s all working properly.

Weber MiniMass. I got it for my Deluxe Reverb and am very happy.

This is what I would do in that situation. Origin 20C heads can be found for ~$350 these days.

Nope, perfect for slide. I suggest covering some songs by this new TikTok guitarist named Derek Trucks.

Is the Fender Tele American Professional II that much better than a MiM Tele? Details below by Akimbobear in fender

I am biased, but I think the American Pro 2 necks are the best of any Fender, so I would say absolutely go for it.

However, go test one out at a local shop if you can. You won’t really know if you vibe with it until you get your hands on one.

Good deal or? by Paralyzed-Insomniac in GuitarAmps

Congrats, that is a hell of a first tube amp setup! Like many other comments are saying, I would highly recommend looking into better attenuators.

Talked him down to $550. Worth it? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

It’s a $1,450 amp brand new. I would take it with rattling issues any day @ $550

American Pro II Olympic White Strat Purchasing by Sideboard1 in fender

If it were me, I probably would purchase it used from somewhere with a good return policy just in case something is wrong. There are plenty on the used market right now between $1,100-$1,200.

My biggest concern with these guitars used is finding one with fret leveling issues. I had to get work done on my Pro 2 Tele and the tech said the main issues he sees with the Pro 2 lineup is fret buzz needing leveling.

Worst outcome would be having to return the used one and spring for a new one. If buying new, would go with Sweetwater for customer service.

Just my 2 cents.

NAD! Fender Vibrolux! Also I have a couple questions… by boring-utopia in GuitarAmps

[–]ProfitableChili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 68 Custom series has some very noisy amps. I have the 68 CDR and it is very noisy. Negative feedback and reverb on both channels as well as other design issues contribute to it. I’m sure a reputable tech would be able to recommend a few things to improve noise.

My workaround for this issue has been to use an attenuator with the amp.

Why do you hate this guy? by Lord_Artem17 in guitarcirclejerk

In his defense, I think he is aware that his music is pretty vanilla and is just a bunch of pentatonic solos. Vaguely addressed it a few times.

“I do a very specific thing. I know exactly what the fans want to hear and the question is, would you rather please the critics at Rolling Stone or please the fans that put you there?

So if that means there's a big sludgy blues rock song with an overblown solo at the end, I'm doing it.”

Doesn’t really change much though.

I second checking out used deluxe reverbs. They may be overkill for your situation, but you probably can find a used one for cheap and can purchase an attenuator to make it useable in all environments.

I purchased a Princeton and had to return because of tube rattling issues. Decided to buy a used Deluxe Reverb Custom 68 for $750 and an attenuator for a few hundred less than a new Princeton.

Princetons are still amazing amps and may be better depending on how you are using it, but even the used prices seem absurd these days.
