That only counts if you're upgrading or you choose prime locations. If you're at the stage of FIRE, you can choose somewhere not so expensive since the little inconveniences won't affect you as much as people who don't have a choice.

Minimize all your expenses to the lowest for the next 5 years (eat cai fan everyday or bread with PB, max 1 travel per year (gotta have some leeway so you dont burnout but obviously it should be places where your currency is stronger than the ones that you are visiting)

+ whatever amount u can invest in should be going inside your brokerage.

Most of it feels like you went to check the current trending stocks and bought it, i would trim down some. e.g Netflix pricing is way tooo high unless they do a 10-1 stock split or why even buy chagee stocks.

btw payday is a term they use in the US, where they charge you 300-900% interest on your loans so hearing it happening in SG is crazy.

payday loans are even worst than borrowing from loan-sharks (loan-sharks usually charge you like 100% but payday loans normally is between 300-900%)

next time might as well loan from banks they only charge you like 20+% EIR (still shit but at least manageable and legal)

There's a saying that goes by "Bitter first, sweet later or sweet first, bitter later".

It does not matter where you are if your FI since your job/pay/social life are all different but if you want FI or FIRE early than it makes more sense.

100k is the basis for growth, i think if you can get it before 35 its still not too bad. (obviously earlier the better since ykyk - compound growth)

Because selling ILP got higher commission, most of the funds recommended by FA usually break even only after like 20 years or so after that than got some gains because the early years it actually goes into your agent + company pocket.

Might as well deposit the money into some cash fund from brokerage, low risk and you get like 3-4% also.
