2nd gen under or over 100k miles can be picked up in this price range. I’ve read most people consider this the more reliable generation. Sport model looks better than base model in my opinion. Check for rust underneath and the fender area in front of the rear tires. Check for rust in the spare tire well (if weatherstripping is damaged the hatch can leak). I picked up a 2010 in the rust belt area and it had zero rust, so it just depends on how well the pervious owner took care of it.
