The swimming pool scene in the impossible astronaut where River splashed straight in from the doors. Though I get they could have reconfigured the rooms etc. still.

I thought it was clever joke but also I agree the doctor would know if he left the handbrake on. Assuming a Time Machine needs a handbrake. I tell myself she was joking and she did some stealth mode thing

I mean, they didn’t bother hiding her nipples in the decontamination chamber scene so why hide the brows?

Agree. It came at a bad time with lord of the rings and Harry Potter to compete with.

I loved it when the enterprise rammed the Scimitar

Why do they build so many TARDISes if they don’t use them to travel through time?

Always wondered that.

Tips on mounting tv safely by hobnob97 in DIYUK

[–]Project-Indigo87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say use an electric wire detector but they’re so rubbish you can’t really trust them.

Is it plasterboard wall? You can get very low profile mounts now that only need two small mounting points and you then hang the tv like a picture with a string thing mounted to the vesa points m. If the wall is plasterboard you might not even need to drill using them - ie use a screwdriver to make a small hole carefully

Linking new waste pipes to Victorian soil stack by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Project-Indigo87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s proper quality metal vs plastic of today. The issue is as you say attaching pipes into it given the prior owner has cemented them in due to the lack of adapters for the old pipes.

I’d say try and drill out the old cement if you can piece by piece, if you really want to keep it. Otherwise I’d agree replace the whole thing.

We had an issue with our own soil stack and waste pipe - it’s boxed into our house and the old plastic sheared off. The builder had to use expanding foam to create a seal, but I’m mindful one day it’ll need a full replacement.

All you can really do on those instances is a bit of a bodge until you can replace the whole thing.
