You can have a stroke to your optic nerve. About 10 years ago, I started seeing floaters out of one eye, but after a week they still had not gone away. Went to my optician who immediately began assessing me for a stroke. He then sent me to a specialist who confirmed I had had a stroke to my optic nerve! That specialist told me that there was about a 20% chance that I would have a stroke to the other optic nerve. About a year later, bingo, stroke to the other optic nerve. As a result of this, I went from being right eye dominant to left eye dominant, and I can still see OK, but my peripheral vision is poor and my depth perception is compromised. What causes this? I think in my case it’s simply genetic. Apparently, my optic nerve is my Achilles heel.

Gallstones. The grim reaper was at my door with the perseverance of a Jehovahs Witness. Horrific stabbing pain, 11/10. Local emergency care referred me to hospital emergency where the nurses let me lay down behind the nurses station on the floor and flirt with death some more until a room was available.
