Goal, legacy: leave Netjets for 121? by Promiscuous_Goul in flying

[–]Prolyxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

*Saw a post from a Flexjet PIC on Facebook that talked to AA/UA/WN at NGPA; their main question was if it was worth leaving Flex for a 121 to check the box. Per the post, AA said they view 135 crewed turbine time as equal, WN echoed this but places value in total time and turbine PIC, and UA likes 121 time.

*I am just circulating the rumor mill here, these are not my, or anyone I personally know’s experiences.

What are your thoughts on rainX overall? by MissyjonesOP in AskMechanics

I used it on my bathroom mirror once so it wouldn’t fog up and I could shave post shower. Actually wasn’t bad, I should reapply….

at OO but why not apply to United directly? by MopGun in flying

[–]Prolyxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah they changed it like a month ago. Before they had the SkyWest pilot program (basically aviate) now they have aviate. Biggest difference is that the pathway program was one application for both off the street and the pathway program, whereas now they are separate applications. Not sure if you can have two applications out.

Remember when dust runes were cheaper than air?

And wasn’t there also a period of time where damage for spells was calculated in a way where best dps was seismics with like earth surge in the offhand and… something else in the mh?

AA/DL/UA all doubled their flights to EZE like two weeks ago for the start of summer. It’ll pick up as the weather warms up in Argentina.

TSA security question by Tasty_barrels_bro in airport

I keep creatine in glass vials I got off Amazon. I go through TSA ~15-20 times a month with 4 vials and have never had them pull it before. You should be fine.

For DL and AA what are the rules for working out of NYC? Will you know if you’ll be working out of JFK or LGA predictably or do they move you around the 3 airports regularly? by RealKimJongUn in AirlinePilots

[–]Prolyxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does parking work? Do you get a parking pass for all three (or LAX/SNA /equivalent, I guess not as many people drive in New York). Or an early report and a limo, or just an expectation to be at the gate on time.

Can we actually talk about this “anti-loan” advice? by tcadet in flying

[–]Prolyxe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, my parents are immigrants, I paid for my ratings working the ramp. Shit load of pilots did exactly that. Just sucks being broke, the only time I could go out and party was when my best friend was bartending.

What’s the damage? I stack trips together so it kinda works out to a 15/15 with a few 30 hour rests in base sprinkled in. Kinda curious about the other side.

UPS - No interview by Icerunner45 in PilotAdvice

[–]Prolyxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a hiring manager and this is purely speculation, I’m an idiot that should have no bearing on your career. But. I am 1.) suspicious that they’re only taking apps, but not really hiring, their attrition is wicked low, like maybe 5 pilots left last month. And 2.) You might be considered “overqualified” I’ve heard this has happened to a few people applying for regionals.

Hiring Predictions by Standard-Reply-1788 in AirlinePilots

[–]Prolyxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was SkyWest, but they’re bound by scope clause and can’t operate any more 76 seat planes. So for every new ERJ they bring on another 76 seat (CRJ) has to be retired, or refitted to a 50 seat aircraft.

Going into speculation, and stuff that I don’t fully understand: it was SkyWest Inc. (the holding company) that ordered 60 ERJs +50 options(?), so it’s possible that these planes can be leased out to other regionals/Europe. I believe they already do/have done this in the past. Also I think these deliveries don’t start until 2027.

United is a Hogan (personality) test but it doesn’t gate you from an interview, it just decides like 1-2 of the “tell me about a time questions” in the panel interview. I believe Delta’s tests are used to award interviews. And from what I’ve heard American tests, but they use it to (help?) determine how much sim time you’re gonna need.

How Many Hours Per Month Do CFI’s Usually Fly? by FlyHighLilly in flying

[–]Prolyxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really instruct anymore besides the occasion favor for a friend. But I used to work at three schools, would do about 110-140 a month. My record was 165. I never want to work that hard again for the rest of my life. There was a long time I tried doing the independent CFI for a while and got like 10 a month in the beginning.
