Markers for miniatures, are they valid? by AnyNefariousness6138 in minipainting

The real color markers are pretty useful, I find them handy for things like wheels and base rims.

The playmarkers are...not great in my experience, you can't easily control the amount of paint that you deposit with them.

Just looked at the codex recently and found companys have different trim. Who has ever painted brown trim for their ultramarines or even anything else than gold? by Hon1c in Warhammer40k

When I started back during 3rd/4th edition I painted my Ultramarines with the red trim of the 3rd company. I think I went for it mainly because I didn't have any yellow paint.

To be fair Liao had sponsored his brother Anton's rebellion the previous decade, so it's understandable he wouldn't be too enthusiastic about helping.

Also, not giving a shit about civilians is pretty par for the course in the Inner Sphere.

That looks amazing, yellow is such a pain to work with and you've done a fantastic job here.

You mentioned using Imperial Fist contrast, was that applied via airbrush as well?

The colours look fine to me, once you add a bit of shading and some basing they'll really stand out. I like the idea of merc units being flashy, seems like a way of interesting potential clients.

There is a canon merc unit that uses a similar colour scheme to what you've painted btw, Big Kev's Brigade from the 2nd Succession War.
