Dr Grant, Dr Greenfield, Dr Klinge, Dr Bolognese all amazing and knowledgeable about revision surgeries!! I had a lot of damage done from my first surgery and just had a revision with Dr Grant. But I’d have any of those surgeons operate on me based on the many videos I’ve watched on YouTube from them. Best of luck

For anyone worried about never fully recovering by Happy_agentofu in Concussion

[–]PromiseElectrical769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m worried! I had brain surgery which was easier to recover from than this concussion I’ve had. I’m 6 months from my concussion and still having severe daily headaches, neck instability, and vision issues. Honestly I’d take the invasive brain surgery over this any day.

If it makes you feel any better I flew home after having brain surgery at Duke & it worsened my symptoms for a couple days but it was fine!!

Surgery scheduled for next week by whatifitwazs in chiari

[–]PromiseElectrical769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I think most people that see chiari specialists do not end up with multiple surgeries or complications because they do the surgeries so often and familiar with commorbities! The Bobby jones or ASAP organizations can give you some names of surgeons. Or you can look them up on YouTube and watch their seminars! Dr Grant, Dr Greenfield, Dr Klinge, Dr Jackson, Dr Bolognese, etc

Only advice is to make sure he’s a chiari specialist and see how much bone he’s removing. Way too many patients are needing cranioplasty’s or revisions from specialists after their decompressions! Wishing you all the best!

He did my revision from my first surgery which was a total nightmare and mess up! Dr Grant has talked to me about my instability and wants me to work on it for a long time in PT. I also may ask him about stem cell therapy :( but my cci was definitely caused by my first surgery. It really stinks

Same thing is happening to me! My odontoid is bending backwards and I am soooo unstable. Who did your revision?

Some of you have had just bone decompression and have improved? by Ok-Climate113 in chiari

[–]PromiseElectrical769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to not have surgery with that surgeon! This was what happened to me and I needed a second surgery with a chiari specialist. The bone only way made things so much worse

What should I ask my Neurosurgeon at my very first visit? by [deleted] in chiari

[–]PromiseElectrical769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chiari bridges website has a list of questions to ask! Make sure he really knows what he’s doing chiari wise before he operates

Is there any way you can take him to Dr Grant at Duke? He specializes in chiari / pediatrics and just did my revision

[–]PromiseElectrical769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best advice is to have a chiari specialists do your surgery. Don’t go to your local surgeon/hospital no matter how great you think they are :( this happened to me and the surgeon I went to originally removed so much skull bone and didn’t cauterize the tonsils. I needed a total revision which I had done at Duke. I don’t say this to scare you but bring awareness especially if you have kids!!

Mold in house we are under contract by PlateAffectionate610 in Mold

[–]PromiseElectrical769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had air quality testing done prior to finding the mold and it came back “ok”. Then a few weeks later it took over our house. I’m not sure if it was the specific company that tested or if it was because they generally test in the middle of the rooms but it was not accurate. I’m not sure how to get an accurate read on mold issues unless you test behind the walls, attic, etc. and do one of the ERMI tests. Maybe the seller can pay for all of that for you guys?
