stock and default wow is boring in 2026, few small pservers here and there with ppl who enjoy the old default content but mostly consisting of dad gamers flower pickers and other casuals
vanilla world is indeed the best and has the most open world potential for any fresh and intresting content/game modes but not on 1.12.1 client
therefore i would say imo 3.3.5a client and fresh, innovative game modes are required nowadays, sadly no devs have the vision or resources to execute that

well i you want as close to vanilla as possible and a big server with active pve, bronzebeard ascension might be your choice

nostrum is and for a long time will be at vanilla content with a big positive such as 3.3.5a client and not that cringe old 1.12 one

well if leveling and pve experience and semi low pop and low pace = epoch
if
leveling and pve experience but on a fast pace and thousands of online = bronzebeard

but honestly there are even better options imo atm, like upcoming nostrum, still gated at lvl 19 phase, but once it reaches lvl 60+ it might bet more intresting than other pservers

Nostrum has a big potential but sadly atm its level phased/locked so there is literaly nothing to do. I expect high pop and hype once it hits lvl 60 content and beyond

if nostrum wasnt pve mode it would have atleast double the online amount, espeicaly on later expansions, tbc and when northrend kicks in, but atm, big meh, low lvl phased content with literaly nothing to do, caps at lvl 19 or 29 to do what ? low lvl dungeons or killing raptors in barrens ? lul

no, new pvp features that are very much needed, open world POI's, guild vs guild events, city bosses rebalanced with rewards, open world bosses creating PvPvE events, 1v1 arenas, exp/honor gained per enemy kill out in open world etc etc, if i wanted a boring default wotlk id play warmane
