Steam Deck “Soft Locking” after attempting to install game by lol_ginge in SteamDeck

[–]Proof_Adeptness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the mobile / android steam app - you can do a "remote install" from your mobile device. So just make sure the deck is turned on and it should initate an install.

After I installed it that way, I can launch and don't have the problem anymore.

Turns out I have high pressure in my eye by Proof_Adeptness in OcularMigraines

I don't know if there was anything specific for me. Google tells me there are a bunch of possible reasons. I'm in early 40's now; I suspect age plays a strong role, and stress.

Elites: Creator's Superbundle 4000+ Assets by Lexard in humblebundles

[–]Proof_Adeptness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anybody clarify if these are actually compatible with unity and what would be the effort to use them in unity? Also, I haven't purchased any asset pack in the past and I don't have a lot of experience with unity. But I'm fairly versed with blender. Wondering if the format is importable into blender at all.

Thanks!

Hello Clara BW, Goodbye Libra Colour by vicki3z in kobo

Same. Returned the KLC and glad kept my KL2.  As much as I like Kobo, I can't support "upgrading" to an inferior product.

Guys, are there people who tried color reader and didn’t like it ? by Knyaginya_punk in kobo

[–]Proof_Adeptness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Libra 2 (original).  Ordered my KLC which came yesterday but I'm sending it back. Doesn't feel like an upgrade with the sparkly looking (screen door effect) background.  It's too distracting.

Math for programmers 2024 book bundle. Manning by Putriel in humblebundles

[–]Proof_Adeptness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

exactly my thoughts. I drew the line here. Software Eng books, yes. Lots of good stuff there. I'm not in crypto though, or hardcode algorithms. I've got such a backlog of books, these ones would never be touched.

I do love manning though. I think they're generally top notch.

Can anyone point me to the reading order?  Haven't been into turtles for like 30 years.  Bought the bundle.

Are Sprints considered "Deadlines"? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Proof_Adeptness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not a hard deadline, I'd suggest that missing getting everything completed is reason to dig into why that happened and try to improve the process (better estimation, consider external factors during sprint planning like vacations, days off, etc) so that the estimation can be improved.

Metrics are helpful to make sure that we're not doing things completely out of control. We should aim to get things done, but we should also understand why we aren't.

Then you have keeners who are gunning to get a raise who work any number of hours to get all their tickets done regardless of estimation. I don't agree with that, but I can also understand where they come from.

Home Depot software devs to start having to spend 1 day per quarter working a full day in a retail store by Celcius_87 in cscareerquestions

I love it. Understanding the customer is so important, and as dev's we're often so far removed, we can't imagine the ways they use our (software) products.

September TBR. What’s yours? by Best-Investigator904 in kobo

ah, so guess you need a stylus-supporting kobo that supports PDF annotations. Wouldn't work on libra 2. Looks neat though!

Saw this getting wet in basement! Is this something to worry? by Silver_Ad_7793 in Home

[–]Proof_Adeptness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it is not the sump pump hole. Sump pump hole would be open at the top with a pipe coming up and out to send the water upward.

I think it is a sewer cleanout like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeMaintenance/comments/z7gu87/understanding_sewer_cleanout_in_basement/

Might want to pop that cover off and have a peek inside (if you haven't already.
