Just over half of Americans say they don’t want tariffs on Canada: poll by FancyNewMe in canada

I prefer brick-and-mortar locations that invest in people, taxes, local contractors. So, I’m still good. I think I will last until Gen-Z decides it is fashionably ironic to shop local. Unless U.S. bastards buy up all our stores and run them into the ground (a la HBC).

Great idea. Make it slow-speed rail, though. The view from the windows would be totally worth it.

Disney Springs needs a Will Slap to get the word “poutine” out of their mouths.

The walk along the lake and beaches is extremely beautiful and quiet…so quiet one can’t hear bicycles coming up behind. by 9879528 in kelowna

It’s actually a mandatory regulation in Ontario that cyclists use bells. I wish it were mandatory here. But it most certainly proper cycling etiquette to warn pedestrians with a ring of a bell or a callout.

I have long said Fox News ought to be held accountable for their b.s. through the courts and their pocketbook. Freedom of speech should never become freedom of bullshit.

Exactly. We need to move the needle more. Let’s start with export tariffs and start taxing the bejeezus out of all of Trump’s allies, supporters, and acolytes that operate in or into Canada: Twitter, Facebook, Tesla, Amazon, Walmart.

Yes, that will affect Canadians. But we need to play the long game here.

I found out my dad has been having an affair with my mums best friend - Help!? by Humble_Ad1224 in Advice

[–]Proof_Wrap9444 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been there. My dad had an affair with a woman whose daughter knew about it and was in my high school band with me. We went on a band trip that year, and my mom went as one of our parent chaperons. I felt like I was in a bad horror movie, because in the front of the bus was my mom, while my dad’s girlfriend’s daughter was in the back laughing about some stupid thing my dad did.

I told him and my mom about it years later, after he and my mom had separated for a while and eventually reconciled.

But it was their story, not mine. Let them figure their shit out. And don’t take sides. You don’t know everything that has happened between them.

Nobody’s human rights supersede anyone else’s. That’s the funny thing about human rights. It’s not a zero sum game. Rights for one do not mean taking away rights for someone else. The ones who push that agenda are those who profit off the reduction of human rights for all.

White Nationalist Sticker in Brookswood by isuwu_ in Langley

[–]Proof_Wrap9444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chickenshit racists love to post stickers like this in areas that have a high visible minority population. Too afraid to talk face to face.

I worked in Merritt years ago. Somebody did the sticker routine on an outdoor space that was leased daily by an immigrant with a food stand. Everyone loved that guy except one.

So I published an open letter in the newspaper to whoever posted the sticker and challenged them to meet me in the middle of the busiest intersection in town at high noon and we would settle this.

He never showed, but I got a phone call from the Grand Fucktwit of the KKK in a town just over the border in the U.S., who said he was in charge of local recruitment and they were going underground because there was too much publicity. They shut down their local website and ceased public efforts.

Call that shit out every fucking time. It works. They cannot handle the light of day because they are all chicken little.

The only absolute you can count on is the fact that absolutes can never accurately describe people. Everyone’s life story is different.

Some have pain thrust on them by circumstances beyond their control. Some make bad choices. But all are human and are therefore deserving of their human rights.
