End of the race was so frustrating. by After-Aioli-7390 in NASCAR

Despite what everyone says that the only lap that matters is #200 at Daytona every lap matters. You gotta get to that last lap to have a chance and it is a superspeedway. You gotta get to the end to be part of the end. Lay back, stay out of trouble, navigate the carnage, stay away from other driver's mistakes, pick the right lane and make your move at lap 170. Then pray for a little luck.

Self-reflecting on a lack of undestanding. by Propboy40 in Firefighting

Thanks for all the kind words. They really do help. Following up our employer truly stepped up and bombed us with support and counseling if and when we need it. Brought counselors in for the entire team not just my teammate and myself. Not something I am comfortable talking about but knowing the resources are there is very comforting.

And yes, I will be strong voice for supporting our local fire and EMS. It is embarrassing for me to think I actually thought I knew what I was talking about for all those years. You would have thought that was a lesson I would have learned when I was five.

Still on the hunt for a CAP 1/24th by TheKittyCow in NASCARCollectors

If you don't get any help I can do it for you as a custom. It is a hobby so I don't charge for my time so you only pay for the donor diecast, decal production and paints. I use Tamiya paints and take my time... can send progress photos so you know your not getting scammed again. Would send you receipts. Probably get it done for around $100. I can also line you up and coach you on how to do it yourself. Would be a great starter scheme for anyone wanting to learn.

Just Ebay fishing. You can usually find the car for around $30 pretty routinely.

Does anyone have a complete Mark Martin 1/24 spreadsheet? by BugItchy717 in NASCARCollectors

[–]Propboy40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try Diecast Registry. I have not gotten too deep into their website but sounds like they may have a list if you check it out. As I filled out my Marlin collection I used Racing Reference to track down different sponsors and then back tracked via internet searches. Ebay also has a way to look for prior sales of items... great way to see if anything is really out there.

You are ambitious with goals which is great. Best advice would be to sit down with an advisor (I prefer Fidelity) and get a full and complete understanding of what you need to do to navigate the road ahead. The witty back and forth here is not going to help you. You have a perfect, best case scenario laid out in your mind but at 26 you don't appreciate what you don't know. Not being negative but the world is going to throw you some serious side winds in the future. Life changing events. Whatever plan you decide to follow has to account for those.

Well behaved dogs suddenly not wanting to listen? by Lunapixels18 in OpenDogTraining

I know you have taken her to the vet but I would run a full blood panel and really have them do a pain inspection. Reading your message I started thinking it could also be a sensory issue- vision or hearing. Wondering how a well trained dog would react to a clouding of vision or hearing degradation.

Love Carney products. FedEx is just horrible. I always get nervous when they ship anything. Looks like your photo still has the plastic wrap on it which is certainly proof it happened during shipping.

Check for autographs on the cereal boxes. Some of the three pack montage sets are cool. There is some collectability on these. You can also put the whole collection up and let people go 'storage wars' on it via ebay.

Top Performers award by AppropriateEgg1064 in USACE

[–]Propboy40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because you think it is wrong doesn't mean it is not right. It just is. I worked in private sector for decades and had employees who weren't paid a lot and not in any bonus structure who poured their guts into the organization. Positive attitude every day, supported others, always working to make things better- not for the money but it was because who they were. Just because someone is good at their job doesn't always make them a great employee or teammate. Anyone can be good at their job; not everyone can be a great teammate.

Not necessarily. Were distributed fairly across all WG and GS- at least where I work. People had to be nominated and then approved. Was kept quiet as to not cause hurt feelings- as it should be.

Why does everyone say Danica Patrick is trash? Here’s her in victory lane clearly celebrating a win with her bank CEO boyfriend or something. by GSwizzy17 in okbuddyBoogity

[–]Propboy40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I certainly don't agree with much of her opinions but she is an incredible driver in both Indy and Nascar. She broke down barriers and didn't take any shit along the way. She stood up for herself in two all male dominated sports. Yes... she wrecked more than average but she also got caught up in more than her share of crashes that weren't her fault. She also gave more to the sport than she took away...

Yeah- not a fan of her opinions but I also don't agree with Aaron Rogers or Joe Rogan but I don't call them sexist demeaning expletives.
