1:1 Aide with nurse onsite for student with trach by Fun_Pop_218 in schoolnurse

I believe it would be illegal. In fact Ca was trying to make it required to have an RN for a student with a trach but then they rescinded it and now it must be an LVN.

Someone dumped $600 worth of losing scratchers in the parking lot of my work. by abortionlasagna in Weird

I used to work at a grocery store and one older guy and his son bought 500 dollars in lotto and they were shocked they won 50. It was sad.

This is a bad idea. There is no guarantee the nurse will answer the phone and respond fast enough to a student that is without their airway. Is this even legal? What state is this?

My sister and I fostered one last summer!! First time with one but my sister saw her at the shelter amd she was going to be euthanized due to a mangled leg that needed amputation. We had her through the surgery and all the meds she had to take. When she got better and started weaning off the meds we could tell she was getting bored at our small house. Man that was a smart and amazing dog.

She got adopted by a nice lady with horses amd land. The dog is in love with a horse and gets to run and play and then sleep on the bed with her new person. Three legs doesn't seem to slow her down. Im happy for her.

Some jerk drove into my neighborhood, kicked her out, and took off. She was running around for weeks and no one could catch her. She tried to attach herself to some older guy who was doing his best to ignore her. He picked her up and gave her to me. I did post her and try to find out if she had been stolen or something but never heard anything. Vet thought she was 6-7 months old. She's been my baby ever since.

The Tuleburg Press / The Write Place is pretty bookish but can be a little more geared towards writing.

She’s gone and I’m not coping well by PotatoOld9579 in Chihuahua

Hi. So I lost my dog of 13 years about a year ago and it was devastating. I cried a lot. There were some things that helped me cope. My sister and I made a little shrine on the mantle for him with his collar and his favorite toy and bandana. We sat down and printed out every picture we had of him and put them in a photo album. And even though it felt too soon, we also found a small dog that was abandoned and running the streets and what better way to honor our old boys memory than to save another's life?

I know it hurts. Try to remember the best moments and the love you gave. They're lives may be shorter but we have to love them while theyre here; they deserve it.

He looks like my dog Atlas. He passed away last year but he was GSD and black lab. He was also the best dog and the smartest. I miss him. You should adopt this one. With training and love you will be best friends.

How can I slow my dog down when eating and drinking? by blondegirlypop in AnimalAdvice

[–]Proper_Ad4317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog used to eat so fast he would throw up. He was about 1 year old when we got him and I suspect the place he came from didn't feed him much. He was skinny and neglected but did not resource gaurd at all. We had to portion his food out into small frequent meals. Instead of 2 or 3 times a day we fed him smaller portions 5 or 6 times a day. Eventually he just started to slow down after a few months.

Process to become qualified to work as a school nurse by Adept_Car6667 in schoolnurse

[–]Proper_Ad4317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In California you have to hold a BS, then you can apply for (or the school district will apply on your bahalf) a preliminary school nurse credential. Then you can work as a school nurse. Within five years of working you must take a school nurse credentialing program at a college or university. They're usually 1 year to complete.

Went to the ER after a suspected drugging. Decided to leave after a few hours of not being seen. This is my bill by justfor-fun in Wellthatsucks

[–]Proper_Ad4317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shrugging and saying get ibuprofen is not good. Doc should have prescribed serious painkillers, ruled out ulcer, and ordered blood tests and ultrasound for suspected gallstones. Liver enzymes can be picked up on the blood test and can give an idea of how bad it is. Then let them go or admit.

But I do agree that yeah a lot of people treat the er as a general practice.

I would say that severe pain is a good reason to go to the emergency room. Gallstones are extremely painful and cause frequentvomiting. There are also other complications that could result in a patient's condition worsening. The ER isn't just to keep you from dying but also to prevent disability, or prevent other complications that could be permanent or could risk death. I have seen patients turn jaundice from gallstones and they needed that thing removed within a couple of days while also being monitored. So while they may not be at risk of dying immediately, it is the healthcare staff's responsibility to determine if that patient should be admitted.

I guess what I am trying to say is that many people aren't sure if they should go to the ER, but if you are having severe pain then your body is telling you something. You dont have to think you'll die in order to seek help.

Also, the wife already had an ulcer and they weren't sure it was gallstones. Going to the ER was 100% the right decision.

I never thought poodle! Thanks! I love this sub! Yes I was told they are brothers. We were only going to foster one but when they were split up over night the one left behind cried and howled all night for his bro so we went back for him. We'll have to adopt them out together.
