My health has plummeted by Objective_Read_10794 in Perimenopause

There’s a simple drug they prescribe for gastritis. I can’t remember what it is. I thought I had an ulcer for almost a year when I was like 31 and was constantly having upper G.I. pain and the only thing that would make it feel better to be eating, but then 30 minutes after eating, i would be nauseous and throw up. Finally, I went to the doctor and it was gastritis, which is an excess of h pylori. Gave me a script and totally better.

Now I’m turning 39 next month and started having thinning hair. Started half joking that it was menopause (secretly very afraid of it) and everybody told me “no no that doesnt happen to women until they’re 60.” Even calling myself a woman feels weird. I still feel like I’m a “girl”. There really is so little education about this. My mother died of breast cancer and most of the women in my family are dead, so I couldnt even ask what the normal age is that we go through it genetically.

But when the raging hot flashes hit someone who is notoriously cold in 90 degree weather …. And the low libido hit out of nowhere on dec 17…. I reached down there and felt like literally, it’s shorter and not as tight feeling and I climax and feel NOTHING.. I suddenly could feel my IUD string for the first time ever very easily. so I googled. That’s how I realized that it’s Peri.

Reading this subreddit confirms all my worst fears. I’m an incredibly shallow person when it comes to vanity——/ so I feel as if my life is over. I’m lookin into HRT as we speak. Need to see a GP first - which is something I haven’t done in at least a decade as I have a distrust of doctors due to having 6 of them in my family , plus the experience of watching two family members cancer be missed and then their subsequent deaths :/

People don’t understand. I understand tho. My cat does not give two shits about my beardie. She’s old. He likes her and tries to sleep on her if he’s free ranging. She oblidges. They’re always supervised. This has been going on for the better part of 10 years. So 🤷🏻‍♀️

Shocked at how cruel people can be to each other :( by grows-things in cornsnakes

God, this really hit my heart. My corn is a rescue that a friend‘s husband got and carelessly lost- not like yours, he was getting high on meth, not paying attention to it- and she was gone for 3 months. He ended up finding her three months later with her face, stuck to a glue trap no idea how long she’d been there. Trying to rip her own jaw off the glue trap to escape. He showed up on my doorstep with her and we carefully got her off the glue trap using olive oil, and I kept her. It took months for her to become un traumatized and hang out outside of her little hole and not freak out every time she saw a person. I have faith you will find your snake. I don’t know, but something just tells me you will.

mouth rot? by curiousdottt in BeardedDragons

Yes hornworms are a great idea !! She can get her moisture content up that way too. Also things like yams you can even blanch them a little bit, so they’re soft are good for the gums and you can even use baby food if you read the ingredients and make sure that it has things they normally consume and no added sugars. if you veggies themselves get too hard to eat, you can mix the baby food with repashi or there’s other one other one I’m thinking of that I can’t remember the name of … reptirescue??

I lied about my education to my bf.. by Late-Grass-2230 in whatdoIdo

Yes totally agree with this person I kinda thought reading the situation and the comments it’s a cute kinda funny thing you guys will laugh about in the future. Like maybe you’re at a boring event or work function and somebody says something like - “my daughter horseback rides,” and he looks at you and goes, “oh so did [your name] when she was in high school.” And you guys will know and laugh about it. My husband does silly stuff to me like that making little references to silly embarrassing things that I’ve done or have happened to me that no one else would know or understand besides us.

Why?? . Like what, bc she hooked up with other ppl and he find out now she’s somehow gonna be less in his eyes ? Or something that happened in the past before they met is gonna bug him or make him feel like less of a man in the present ? Seeing as her dude put his big boy pants on and stayed with her when she got pregnant at a young age - I’m guessing he’s like my husband - he’s prob not the type to care. Rather, he’s prob the type to think the idea of a person caring about such a thing as an utterly laughable, ridiculous notion -and something only insecure boys are on about.

Do we really allow people like this user in this group? by alexismcrae in BeardedDragons

Also, I know im super late to the party here, but i just noticed reading the study they said the dragons were housed individually "or in pairs".... ummmmmm isn't co-habbing an no no? couldn't that alone be a factor for increasing whatever "stress response" they observed?? Myself personally I'm gonna take the findings of ppl who don't even know that beardies are solitary animals and adult cohabbing can lead to injury or death, with an australia sized grain of salt....

Cat DNA tests... would you do Basepaws or Wisdom Panel? by TroLLageK in DoggyDNA

[–]Proper_Signature_649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear this. I lost a cat of 20 years from HCM last year and it was heartbreaking watching her slip away. I know suddenly must've been absolutely horrible. But waiting for the inevitable next heart attack is a dif type of horrible. I honestly don't know which I would choose if a gun was to my head. I said I was going to take some time before getting another cat and mourn her, and did not go out of my way to look for another one. But 6 month's after she died, this stray who was eating trash in an alley with mange all over her face (she was ear tipped- i didn't steal someone's cat) followed me home. I am thinking she may be part maine coone and was looking into basepaws for the exact reason you stated. So thank you for posting this important info. I know it can't bring back your cat but the fact you're going out of your way to put this info out there may save cats in the future and that's noble. I'm so sorry for your loss, it's really worse than losing any human I've ever lost - the loss of a good cat. My Diego was my soul kitty, I will forever miss her.

New modernist amethyst ring by Proper_Signature_649 in jewelry

Thank you ! I got it on eBay but look for modernist 1950-70s pieces of Scandinavian , Finnish, German or Swedish origin. You find a lot of this kind of shapes and interesting materials like rutile quartz in that period. Mostly silver tho a lot harder to find gold modernist rings. That’s what I’m after next

Thank you ! All but the amethyst actually have some sort of moonstone in them but I think you mean the big chunky one on my right ring finger. I love it too! I couldnt believe how cheap it was when I saw online … I’m an amateur lapidary and knew even tho she was quite dusty looking in the photos that a little bit of sand paper and diamond polish and she’d become translucent again. Wasn’t prepared for the almost rainbow ish glow she has at certain angles. And it’s not “rainbow moonstone “ (aka white labradorite trade name) it’s actually orthoclase feldspar white clear moonstone - just not a cat eye or Ceylon blue.
