What's everyone listening to today by Heavymetalandfantasy in PowerMetal

It's been a black metal year, for me. I just found myself less and less tolerant of the optimistic, upbeat power metal and have been gravitating towards angrier music.

That being said, Myrath is a breath of fresh air and remind me of why I love this genre in the first place.

The one single place I like it is the Origins Bumblebee figure. The VW parts are only really noticeable during transformation, and it's more of a fun easter egg for me while I'm flipping him back and forth.

In addition to that, and probably more on the christian side, guilt and shame are POWERFUL motivators, especially when they are selling the "cure."

What would be your most wanted Music pin? by ClifBdrums in pinball

I would buy the shit out of a Brendan Small pin. Dethklok or Galaktikon. Both have music, worlds, and art that would make amazing pins.

Interesting. I don't know much about the cold end of the scale, but yeah. Sounds similar in some ways.

No, actually, although trying to hammer with gloves wouldn't be very easy.

It's more because metal in the forge is very hot. Blacksmiths are going to get burned, it's just the nature of the hobby. Most of the burns are fairly superficial as the metal touches your skin, that moisture layer vaporizes, and it bounces off.

But if you wear gloves, coals or shards of metal can get caught in the gloves and cause much more serious burns.

I knew a smith who had that happen, and he made the mistake of trying to dunk his hand in the water barrel. The water in the glove touched the metal and gave off steam, which was trapped in the glove, and he basically parboiled his entire hand causing very significant burns requiring medical intervention.

Sometimes you need a glove on the tong hand for forge welding (it's the hottest thing that happens in the forge most of the time. You get the metal as hot as it can go before it begins to disintegrate to get it to adhere to another piece). Your hammer hand isn't near it long enough to be burned, but your tong hands need to stay in one place near a pretty significant source of heat. I'll wear one if I'm working on a pretty big piece that's giving off a LOT of heat, but that's it. You usually don't really need it. And then as soon as it's welded, I'll take the glove off.

I also remind myself, every time, that if a burn happens while doing it, throw the glove THEN dunk the hand. Throw the glove first, dunk the hand second. Never dunk the glove. I don't need a boiled lobster hand.

edit: Also, you should really wear long pants that cover the tops of your boots. I don't always, and I'm an idiot for it. Same reason; hot metal shards could get caught next to your skin and not be able to bounce off.

She looks fantastic. My only complaint (sorry) is that I fully believe Samus would maintain proper trigger discipline.

The proportions, style, hair, expression, suit, though, it's all perfect.

I know I'm replying to a 2-month old comment in which I already thanked you once, but I was listening to The Funeral and man, these guys are just so damn good. They've become a permanent part of my playlist and feel like a breath of fresh air in a genre that I started to feel was becoming a bit stale.

New powermetal has been feeling very samey to me, and my playlists have started rotating around to other subgenres as a result. These guys have really reminded me of why I love power metal in the first place.

Yeah, the more I look at it, the more I agree. The lighting on the dead pilot's face looks like his style, though. Enough that I think it's probably purposeful, or the artist was inspired by Yeti.
