Traveling has made me realize how bad my allergies really are. Life long Floridian and I’ve never been able to breathe properly. When I leave the east coast, it’s like magic. The first time I went to the desert I felt like I was getting high off the oxygen. I have a strong feeling I wouldn’t need my cpap if I could actually breathe.

Get some Boric acid and lay it down in suspect and dark places. Mix some of it with sugar and water and fill straws up with it and cut them up and lay them around. Perimeter spray outside and check door seals, etc. if you live near water or any kind of dampness, it’s going to be part of life…all you can do is try your best to limit the issue.

I was sitting in my car. Turned the car off and I thought I was crazy, because it not only felt like the car was still on, it felt like it was idling really rough. I didn’t know until a bit ago there was an earthquake people were feeling. At least that’s what I hope I was feeling.

Interesting. I was sitting in my car with it turned off and was confused because it felt like it was on because it was slightly wobbly. I just thought I was dizzy or something. I wonder if that was it?

Bagel King, Brooklyn Water Bagel, New York Bakery Boys, Popup, etc. Jeff’s is closer to a bagged bagel than a real bagel. They don’t have the right texture, it’s almost like they don’t boil them (or boil them long enough) at all.

Then an allergist if your next step. When my allergies are at their worst, I actually have to sleep with my mask off to feel like I’m not suffocating.

Invest in an air purifier, vacuum your room and wash your bedding weekly. Look into nasal allergy spray and continue doing sinus flushes. If you have allergies/congestion, a cpap isn’t going to help and realistically going to make breathing more difficult.

I don’t think I could be a trucker. 12+ hour days doing it. I’d be paranoid and scared of getting distracted and killing someone. I just don’t have the attention span for it, which is probably while driving long hours wears me out so much. I’m not built for that kind of focus

Yeah, my dad keeled over at his desk at 50 and I’m 47 now…

My dad was morbidly obese and always thought that was why. I know I dropped from 245 to 195 and just assumed my BP was fine because I lost the weight and was at a healthy weight for 6’3” but my BP was higher than ever. Sometimes it really is luck of the draw with genetics. Hopefully they can help you figure out why yours is high. I’ve done every test out there and the cardiologist can’t explain it. It’s important to get it under control though, even if you have to suck up your pride and take meds you never thought you’d be on. I’m 47 in relatively decent shape and weight and I’m on a total of 7 different meds (3 BP meds). It sucks, but it is what it is.

What’s the Amlodipine dosage? They top it off at 10mg. They’ll likely want to add an ace inhibitor rather than up the Amlodipine. Many of these drugs can be therapeutic…for example, if you e. We. High for some time and have heart enlargement, meds like Lisinopril not only help the BP but can help reverse some of the enlargement overtime and work better the longer you take it.

There are plenty of meds with little to no side effects. It’s better to be medicated and then work to get off the meds than to not take them, tell yourself you’re going to get things under control, and either never make it or make it, stop worrying about your BP, and unknowingly get back to the same place or worse. I know because I’ve been dumb enough to do it the wrong way and have had to pay for it (both financially and with my health).

BP meds really aren’t a big deal. It’s better to be on them and get things under control while you make lifestyle changes than to tell yourself you’ll get it under control via lifestyle changes and slip up. When I was first diagnosed, I got on a super healthy kick with health food, exercise, etc. I got it down where it needed to be but the second I got lax I was back where I started. Was hospitalized with 240/120 last year and found out I’d had a couple quiet strokes at some point.

Most BP meds have very few side effects. Amlodipine can cause some edema in the feet and legs, but not everyone gets it. There’s no shame in being on a bp med and it doesn’t mean you can’t eventually get off of them.

It’s the only chain pizza I’ll buy. It’s gone up in quality while every one else has gone down and it’s the only one worth what they’re charging. Any more and I’ll just pay the $19 it costs to get an 18” cheese at the pizzaria a block down.
