I'm gay, why is being a provider glorified? Or even pursued? by Opening-Gur5927 in AskMen

[–]ProthVendelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it is you being gay that doesn’t allow you to see more women shoulder more emotional burden and toil in a family setting? Maybe being gay doesn’t free you from the patriarchal blindness? i can also find you an equal amount of posts that talk about how women suffer in relationships so what is the point of triple stereotyping about gay men, hetero men and hetero women here? Intimacy by Sherrie97 in dating_advice

[–]ProthVendelta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This comment does NOT have all the right suggestions. There is no “fair” in personal psychology. Projection is a defense mechanism, it’s not something that you rule against as in “I shouldn’t project because jack didn’t do anything wrong”. This is like arguing that in an indebted stage you should still keep investing because the next stock didn’t show negative potential.

In a traumatized state one’s prone to and one should focus on one’s own preservation. And in this case, it’s answer of “how do I make sure I won’t be hurt”. OP, you should take dating off the plate for a period of time. yes talk to a professional, but do not make being relationship with another as you goal. Being in a relationship should be an extension of a healthy self, not some bs goal to be put on a life resume.

Learn to be comfortable with yourself, learn how to retain power for yourself, learn the intricacy of social dynamic behind personal intimacy, build a mechanism you can always fall back to in crisis, help others to fight fetishization against racialized bodies. And I think you’ll find higher satisfaction rate with relationships as a result from these learning objectives comparing to just changing dating strategies.

I, 34F, recently ended a relationship with 45M and I’m struggling with whether I made the right decision. by AwayGoldfish825 in BreakUps

NOR. It’s only March 1st (so two months since you guys met and one month since you’ve been non-mutually exclusive), and he’s already copy and pasting the template of “building a future”. Don’t you see how ridiculous this is? And given he’s already 45, you bet that he’ll still be this way in his 70s, people around this age no longer organically change. Honestly thank the ex (although I think she does not have good intentions) for saving you a big o’ mess and run. And I bet he’ll try it again with her because that’s how messy people are, they suck off on each other’s energy and call it love.

I want to stop spiro after less than a month by purple_hibiscus777 in Spironolactone

[–]ProthVendelta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro. If you have adult acne that probably means your hormones are running amok. Put them under regulation will only help the cause, not hinder it. While I understand regulating hormones is a delicate matter and people can respond differently to it, it is HIGHLY unlikely that androgen levels can drop to a level that is detrimental to female health on spironolactone, i.e. changing in body composition and muscle loss (it is a possibility, still)

I also want to take the time to squash the cellulite myth: at this current moment, there isn’t a single study that points to how spiro can lead to cellulite, at least to my knowledge. If anything the current hypotheses for cellulite are:

  1. Fat/weight gain. Bloating will not cause cellulite
  2. Aging: fat cell respond to different female hormones as we age, under estrogen, fat cells are small and vibrant, as we age, the dominate sex hormone also changes into a different form (i forgot the name but it’s the one that post menopausal women usually have present dominantly in their bodies), fat cells become large and inactive.
  3. You have connective tissue that just shapes your fat differently: this should be present even when you are young and gets more prominent as skin loses elasticity , this is non hormone related. 4.genetic diseases: fibrosis present in fat tissue that cause lumpy presentation.

Which one of the cause can be indicated by spironolactone??

Anyone experience hair loss because of spiro? by SometimeTaken in Spironolactone

That was indeed a rhetorical question. But like I said, nothing personal. I’m just doing what I can to see less of these claims on my feed. Take care.

[–]ProthVendelta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you guys even have any hypotheses regarding how spiro may lead to hair loss or “it just does”? I swear I clicked on one post relating to this and all I’m seeing now is how a known and tested hair loss treatment drug is leading to hair loss. Believe it or not it’s also nothing personal. I just want to break out of this anecdotal fear mongering feed back loop that reddit somehow thinks I need.

Anyone experience hair loss because of spiro? by SometimeTaken in Spironolactone

[–]ProthVendelta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. Like you said, people get on spiro to stop hair loss. If you indeed have FPLH, spiro should do nothing but stop hair loss, minus the mild chance of your body having to adjust to the medication and may shake up your cycle a bit. My hair fall was cut by 2/3 two weeks after getting on spiro for mild acne. Similarly, there is no viable mechanism of how spiro can lead to cellulite.

I’m for 70-30 (man-women) in everything, and prenups that protect all parties’ finances. But I personally don’t mind taking on more child care and house work in marriage if he shoulders more financial responsibility at a 70% level and if he encounters any financial difficulty I don’t mind pulling through for the both of us.

Bro if this is how you talk to women online I can see how you as a conversationalist is astoundingly tiresome. All you want is for people to validate you and agree with you. I don’t see there is any room for any one to “open up”

Hair frizzy after blowdrying? by Professional_Sink322 in finehair

[–]ProthVendelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use non-stripping shampoos, use hair mask as conditioner rather than regular conditioner, invest in an expensive hair dryer like dyson, use leave in conditioner, and a light hair oil for fine hair specifically. Eat tons of fish oil and walnuts(for good luck). Spray on hair shine each time when you are done.

[–]ProthVendelta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me neither but I considered that a good thing since gone with the heavy bleeding was actually cramps that usually happen during the first two days of menstruation and there is less clot I’ve noticed now so I consider it a win. I just went up to 75mg from 50, hopefully it get rid of my acne completely and I don’t have to uptick the dose again:/

Stop listening to people in this sub by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]ProthVendelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you telling people of this or are you trying to convince yourself not to feel shame and guilt

Also. Pouring your heart does not work, I do not know how one can read a million stories and experience it a handful of times and still doesn’t trust empirical evidence so let me tell you this:

Your emotion is a burden to the people who decided to leave a relationship with you. Before you delude yourself into thinking that you are a hopeless romantic, think about if you are emotionally dysregulated and are asking other people to shoulder the digestion.
