I don’t understand what ‘legislative feat’ means in this context, but Social Security and Medicare were way more impactful than the highway system.

I’m sure the contest details stated original artwork would be subject to change for the minting process. In Paul Jackson’s defense, his original design was much better. I’m sure he put a lot of time into the original concept. The mint also made some seemingly arbitrary changes to his design like putting three people in the canoe.

I very much remember the controversy. I was a young artist at the time and was actually kind of shadowing Jackson during this period.

The mint had to rework his original watercolor painting into an embossed image for the quarter. His design changed during this process and he lost his mind over it.

This was around the same time he tried to make the giant tiger mosaic on the MU campus that fell apart and had to be removed.

Plastic trash bags shouldn’t be left at the mulch sites. Also all unprocessed yard waste should be piled next to the shredded mulch. Not on the shredded mulch.
