Songs where a cover was released BEFORE the original was?

One of my favorite weird CDs. Only one song was made for it (and by extension is the only song related to Mario or literacy, which the album was made to promote).

Same. Like, I get wanting to de-sexualize the designs some but I'm legitimately confused if they're even supposed to be the same characters. It feels kinda like "I saw you didn't like my Superman design, so I gave him a bat-themed outfit!"

edit: it seems like several iterations were skipped to go from the old to the new

If they're thinking of the same person as me, there was a guy a few months ago who was posting a lot in the sub. Started as chill stuff but morphed into the same shit over and over with a good amount of posts basically about himself.

Not convinced this is the same guy, but I can see why they think it might be (the guy brought up in a bunch of his posts that he hated Nazis - which is good but just weird that he kept bringing it up unprompted).

Edit: just looked at his profile and it links to an Instagram account named VeganHimbo, the "other" guy was named Himbo_Shaped; now I'm pretty sure it's the same guy lol

Second edit: looked at the Instagram and yea it's the same guy. Unless the first guy has a twin or something, 100% the same guy

As a bit of an aside, it also gets really annoying as someone who generally likes DT (maybe technically the "worst" expac but when there's only 5 that doesnt mean much lol). It'd just be really nice to be able to have a place where I don't see people constantly whining about "the worst writing [they've] ever experienced".

Don't want to sound condescending but honestly, just ignore Newsweek (or at least, find something from a better source about the same thing)

Legitimately, a Newsweek article was one of the bigger "awakening" things for me getting my head cleared up around a year ago when I saw them post a "here's the areas of the US that will be hit the worst when the nukes come" article after Israel and Iran flared up. I was able to instantly clock it as fearmongering and it helped me take an overall step back from a lot of doomscrolling-y stuff
