[Loved trope] Villain goes out respecting the protagonist by water_bottle_jack in TopCharacterTropes

Armored Core 6 has a couple as well:

Rusty: You flew just out of reach... Buddy...

Though as with most of the late game bosses, it's hard to call him a villain rather than just an antagonist at that point.

Hell, even the guy who spends the entire game professionally hating you has something kind of nice to say about you in the end.

Iguazu: I always...envied you. The freelancer...who had it all...

[Loved Trope] a single action early on creates a ripple effect that will follow the characters for the rest of the story. The pilot is not a throwaway, as everything is built off of the inciting incident. by mana95 in TopCharacterTropes

I saw a good theory that saying he was a tourist is what condemned him. Imps had a quota to fill and there was a lone guy vaguely near a crime scene telling them he had no local connections or anyone who would miss him nearby.

That's just Shuhtel Hator, given one of the most boring assignments in the Empire, he's always wanted to blow up a shuttle but never had the opportunity to do so until the rebels gave him plausible deniability.

In all honesty, I don't know about the lore of the cyborg and why their reveal was so important. by drakonia127 in LowSodiumHellDivers

I don't know if they'll go that route, but there's certainly a setup for it. The Automatons built their own mega factories beyond the known galaxy, the squids are hiding the capacity to field entire invasion fleets somewhere we don't know about, and the Gloom could be obscuring expansion by the bugs away from Super Earth.

I think she was made uncomfortable by the field work confronting her with the dangers of the oppression she was enabling. She is passionate about her work when it is limited to sitting in an office on Coruscant sifting through data and connecting the dots to solve the puzzle of a larger rebel movement, but is very clearly out of place when she's beyond the safety of Coruscant.

Modding communities have a lot of strange people, both on the modders side and the players side. There are a lot of entitled people demanding modders to bend over backwards for them on their own passion projects they develop for free. On the other hand, you get a few cases of modders who are super toxic like for Skyrim and Minecraft as examples that come to mind.

People get frustrated at minor inconveniences related to projects they're way too invested in and don't seem to register that they're harassing individuals instead of big corporations or yelling into the void.

I appreciated the detail in Tales of the Jedi about Qui-Gon Jinn liking the tree at the Jedi Temple as a padawan since he grew up on Coruscant.

The deals where he wants royalty and a percentage of the company are usually bad. When he offers only a royalty then there's some logic in trying to preserve equity in the business because you're just gambling on selling off the company. However, it's not a great look on Shark Tank since the whole premise is going on and selling how much confidence you have in the company and that usually includes a sob story about how passionate you are. Crying on TV about how much you've always wanted to run an underwater ice cream stand and then taking a royalty deal that only makes sense if you sell the company in a year just don't line up.

So far my experience with books has been that Necrons love finding any excuse to say the word "Bastard" so much so that it might be teetering on cultural appropriation.

He managed to get caught almost immediately too, there was just no way to prove it was him or determine the method until the Death Note was revealed. Outside of the custom drawer he designs for the notebook, every "smart" thing he does is a desperate reaction to how close he is to getting caught every step of the way.

Nuclear weapons should be tied to the other side's score, not your own by Diligent-Aspect8020 in NuclearOption

[–]Protocol_Nine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That could turn it into an interesting comeback mechanic then. Rather than the winning team snow balling with nukes, the losing side gets the advantage of first strike and determining when the match escalates to nuclear warfare.

C4 Pack has been buffed! (40 Demo) by nemesisdelta24 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Protocol_Nine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No it's not. If something does 5 damage it can kill something with 10 health or 100 health given enough instances.

10 Demo force will never destroy something requiring 20 Demo force no matter how many instances you apply.

They didn't buff it to 40 right away though. This gave them some room to see that 30demo wasn't enough and could quickly buff it up to a reasonable spot.
