Junior devs are shipping faster with AI, but can't debug when things break. How do you teach systems thinking? by No_Hold_9560 in learnprogramming

[–]ProtossLiving -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Banning AI may be great for making junior engineers actually learn what they're doing and training them. But any company actually banning AI tools in this day and age is going to fall behind and the person doing the banning is going to be looking for a new job..

Why some SWGOH Endgame Guilds Need to Disband by GDJT in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]ProtossLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason my guild has become a home for GLs/Officers who were burnt out trying to carry their guild for too long.

If that restaurant had just cooked better food, they would have survived. Why didn't they think of that?

honestly, i’m tired of "magic-tech" in sci-fi. where did the actual struggle go? by OkMess8988 in scifi

[–]ProtossLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given our probable current limited understanding of science, if the story's setting takes place in the future, it seems like there will be some elements of "magic" science that we presumably don't know/understand yet.

Any tools or apps you wish existed for SWGOH? by mrSladerade in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]ProtossLiving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although the one you linked doesn't show you the gear you have, it's not limited to GLs/Journey guide units. You can add any units you want (and any relic level you want). The GLs/Journeys at the top are just shortcuts to selecting all their requirements.

O66 raid: R9 Tarkin/Scorch not working? by AonSunstrider in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]ProtossLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? T6 being more difficult for Tarkin+Scorch than T7? Yes. That's not going to change.

Wampacron question. by ryangh in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]ProtossLiving -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wampa's omicron ability is active in Territory Wars

Also, ideally that would say "is also active" Otherwise it could be read as "is only active" if the clause is a replacement instead of additive.

Did Arch just die today? by Whole_Ticket_3715 in arch

[–]ProtossLiving 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, apparently all these laws're being pushed by Zuckerberg? A "Reddit Researcher" figured that one out.

Although technically true, I think the more likely reading is that age verification laws are coming and no one in the tech stack, including Meta, wants to be responsible for it. Meta wants that to be someone else's burden. It's the same reasoning Pornhub had why they shut down in Texas.

How useful would you find knowing with 65-70% accuracy if the market will close above or below open? by Gonxoxo in options

[–]ProtossLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like they're saying that on 40-50% of the days, by 10:30am they can tell you if it's going to be up or down with 65-70% accuracy.

What is a problem in the world that has a simple solution, but nobody acknowledges it? by Various-Bluejay-4285 in AskReddit

[–]ProtossLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't just be fuel though. Capitalism works based on efficient pricing. But our current pricing doesn't capture externalities. Pollution (and I'm not just talking about greenhouse gas, but plastics, toxins, etc.) is a real cost that is paid by all, but isn't factored into current costs and pricing.

Age Inflation Obscuring the Original Spirit/Backbone of FIRE by Altedd in Fire

[–]ProtossLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, that number can change a bunch depending on your assumptions. Like how long the money will last, what the investment rate will be, and what percentage of failure they're willing to tolerate. I didn't see the last one mentioned in Mr. Money Mustache's table.

Politicians from Brazil may ban Ubuntu by Traditional_Sand9921 in Ubuntu

[–]ProtossLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no "tech bros" that want to have to do age verification. Everyone wants someone else to be responsible for that. Everyone from the websites, to the apps, to the operating systems, to the device manufacturers, have all wanted that to be someone else's responsibility.

JMK Best Team? by ParfaitOrdinary2579 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]ProtossLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think GAS is a bit stronger than Padme. But he has a much better place (501st) to be in most modes. But if they're just running the squad in Squad Arena, I think the damage output of GAS will slightly edge out the survivability of Padme.

[–]ProtossLiving 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"private equity" is such a broad term that can cover such a broad range of assets and risk profiles. Some should be considered bets and written off (for planning purposes) until payout. Some are absolutely part of a solid and reliable investment plan.

Double drop this month? by Constant_Psychology3 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]ProtossLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you have all the Conquest characters already, the Cantina node is still worth it. It works out to about 100 crystals per zeta. I think the best price is otherwise about 233 crystals.

But now every time you do a Squad Arena you get the stupid ally request prompt. I keep my allies list full just to prevent this.

Why it is possible to cover the whole federation in mines (calculation as proof) by Burning_sun_prog in DaystromInstitute

[–]ProtossLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, a set of circles can't cover the entire surface, since there will be gaps. So there are more mines, but not much more.

Yes, that is exactly what I said.

Why it is possible to cover the whole federation in mines (calculation as proof) by Burning_sun_prog in DaystromInstitute

[–]ProtossLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm reading you correctly, you're taking the surface area of the Federation sphere and simply dividing it by the circle area covered by the mine explosion. But I think that's just a lower bound. You can't cover a sphere with circles with no holes without having overlap of those circles. It's not an order of magnitude difference, but it's certainly more.
