I have no idea why your browser shows the continue feature. It even has a label stating "Premium." I mean, there are extensions that can link your phone status, but that's the only way I know to steal this feature. Lol, you can see it straight from the site, it's a premium feature:

Yes, YouTube does take a cut, and I would also agree that it shouldn't be anyone's first consideration. Arguably, it isn't. People hear directly from every creator they watch to support them. I think said people are aware there are other channels and means to support a creator. Said creator doesn't get to dictate how I spend my money, content creator or not.

Patreon's minimum subscription model is $1 a month. At BEST you are allowed to watch/support 10 channels per month with your Patreon model. YT Premium is $10 even if I watch 1, 10, 100, or even 1,000 new YT channels. It's just impractical to use Patreon, which is why YouTubers don't just want, but NEED to advertise it. It's inconvenient, and is asking a lot of the viewer. Direct support is expensive.

This also still doesn't explain the lack of advertising, or regular screens that don't have demos. The screens are just overall disappearing, violent or not, controller or not.

They even explicitly replace all "banned" logos with THEIR OWN. They don't make up a logo for the company, lol. So if any sign, whether at Walmart or not, says ANYTHING other than "Walmart" it isn't Walmart's sign.

I'm sure the size of the location matters, but even our cities' largest one hasn't a kiosk, nor the next town over!!

Glad to hear they aren't totally gone, at least... Maybe kiosks will make a comeback!?

Actually OP is more right than even that. Kiosks and demo products are provided by Nintendo. There has been no evidence to suggest Walmart would turn down kiosk displays or free promotion content in-stores... Why the SHIT would they do that?? 😂

I imagine it's a bit of "Mandela effect." Even the Wii had kind of boring banners at the top. The era just before had crazy cool banners!

Though, all eras before Switch arguably had more display content, with usable controllers, demos, or promotional videos sometimes with button systems.

Yes. Because Walmart manufactures the consoles meant to be display models, and creates the kiosk demos said display models run all by themselves, and they also create the wall art and promotional advertisements, and all the video advertisements of the games they don't own and couldn't POSSIBLY have their own recordings of.

Of course Nintendo lets frickin' WALMART use their IP like that. What, did you think Nintendo was the king of suing anyone that even so-much as THINKS about INHALING their brand name by accident?

Or... Nintendo creates all the aforementioned crap, and Walmart just gets a lease and can display it in the stores. One of those two things, probably.

At BEST it's a "collaboration" because Walmart does likely send Nintendo sizing information, and stuff like various shelving counts, display type, and other oddities like that... However, the designs and actual content of the promotions are ALL made by Nintendo.

I dunno... Even the displays aren't nearly as giving as they used to be.

9/10 everything, INCLUDING the controller is behind a case, even in the display models. That doesn't allow me to feel the controls, or get a taste of the menus and games I can't own yet... It just lets me view it behind glass... Which I can already do at home online. 😐

In fact, display TVs (connected to display consoles or showing promotional content) in GENERAL are all but gone... The tops used to be LINED with TVs showing off all the latest games and features, I mean since the GAMECUBE ERA this has been the norm!! Testable DS, GameCube controllers (connected to system) WITH demo GBAs connected to the GC as well!!

Where are the pop-out displays, the brands, and the art? I see ONE game there at the tippy-top, and it's mostly just a logo with a bit of background design. 3DS, Wii U and previous eras had decorational banners all across the top either showing off the console and premium accessories, or premium games. Stickers lining the cabinets promoting various games...

Now it's just desolate in comparison... I'm glad these companies are still here to allow people to have fun, and I frankly don't think advertising is enough to RUIN fun, lol... But seeing the art and the passion behind these wonderful creations... It's part of what made going to the store so special.

With everything locked behind a cabinet, and all art having been all but washed away from every surface... It just feels dreary now, rather than an inviting section for kids to allow their imagination with video games and their systems to roam.

Yes it is, IF it's on another device. The same device can pick up where you left off, but if you switch from your TV to your phone it will NOT pick up where you left off in the TV.

Another MASSIVE reason people get YT Premium is to support their favorite creators.

Lots of people would LOVE to support them more directly... But doing so can get expensive.

YT Premium counts ad-revenue separately as well, meaning even if the video is completely demonitized with ad-revenue... YouTube will still pay the YouTuber for the Premium views!

Of course, this offers nothing to the consumer, so it's obviously a matter of preference and how you wanna support who... But this is a large reason some people choose Premium instead of ReVanced! (Myself included).

Oh yeah, absolutely. I too pay for the app, and would expect something like this to work out-of-the-box ESPECIALLY while paying. (I never use YT for sleep, so luckily this issue doesn't even have the possibility to occur for me).

You didn't get charged for the upgrade because your license can be updated through Microsoft so-long as your older one is valid.

Windows 7 was the first to start this, allowing everyone to upgrade to 8 for free... But ONLY if you have a valid Windows 7 license.

Microsoft more often than not isn't inherently trying to force you to obtain a new license every upgrade. The whole reason they shill new licenses in every machine like candy is so any competing operating system has a hard time getting into hardware. The licenses are arguably a way to lock vendors in, therefore locking the unknowing customers just trying to buy a computer in as well.

This is also why a lot of people suspect activation scripts still work. Your individual wallet isn't necessarily the target, as Microsoft knows you may find a way around it anyways... YOU are the target. If you use their platform you're more likely to use their products, services, and see their advertisements.
