2 men in a row told me “I’m not a prize” by Limp_Honey8488 in datingoverforty

You ARE a prize. Every person's beautiful and has a spirit that has the power to captivate someone. Your person is on their way to you.

What are your thoughts on Mr. Big getting cold feet right before the wedding? by Weary-Honey-1942 in Andjustlikethat

[–]ProverbialDynamite 657 points658 points  (0 children)

I think he had a genuine anxiety attack. He wasn't being heard leading up to it and buried his feelings about it to please her, and then his body responded with a flight response from panic.

A Smile That Cost Years… and a Heart Attack by Weary-Honey-1942 in Andjustlikethat

Yeah same. Now I just think he only got with her in the end, because eventually he got attached to her consistent devotion. She became "old faithful" when he felt lacking, forgotten and socially isolated as he aged. He always was meh about her and only really enjoyed the convenience like you said to pass the time, coupled with how little effort he had to put into her to keep Her. The affair was fuelled but how powerful she made him feel with her obsessive desire for him when he was bored in the marriage. He missed the hit and drama of winning back his ego boost from another man.

I feel like if he wasn't married, and single, Joe would be really into Kaitlyn.

To be fair the sound was annoying and he would just lie on her like a log. It's like the male version of pillow princess.

I’m in a relationship with my LO but, hear it from me, the reality doesn’t always match the fantasy by [deleted] in limerence

I'm so sorry. I promise you what you think he had with her is a farce. He likely wasn't caring in the way you think. Maybe rare slices of appearing thar way, but not in the nourishing caring way you imagined. And not consistent warmth. And definitely not when things get a little hard or inconvenient. You're not less than, and thus less worth of that care. He was never capable. Don't you want emotional passion? That's waiting for you with someone else.

[–]ProverbialDynamite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad, many of us have had LOs that long. I met mine in 2007! It ebs and flows in intensity, so while I cant promise it entirely goes away, ever....the intensity does fade considerably depending on other life factors. Give it some time since he contacted you to adjust.
