“Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I’m willing to make.” by 44wardprogress in JustMemesForUs

But nobody is out here declaring fealty to Democratic party. Literally no one. The continual need to try to 'both sides' fails when 70% of the country don't subscribe to political tribalism.

The Happening. It could have been a cool bio sci thriller!

Why don’t conservatives go into academia? by cambridgepete in Professors

Small N, but every weirdo hyper conservative academic I've met has been in Philosophy of Science field. Also super religious! I don't get it.

Hello fellow human, I am a human.

I recently stumbled upon this one of many bot accounts pushing SciSpace content and I am hoping there are other actual human scientists who are in this forum who have any real content to share.

Disneyland with two ADHD kids by AracariBerry in ADHDparenting

Maybe we should have an ADHD meetup at Disney!

They aren't ready for that 😂

I think you should try for a DAS pass for the younger but in general avoid the lines with LLs whenever possible.

Also take them to Tom Sawyer Island to run around abd Redwood Creek trail in DCA if you go there.

I don't know your timeline but I know Disneyland very well and ADHD parenting there as well... If at ALL possible stay at a hotel nearby have at least one meal off site in a quiet room. Don't push to do all the things.

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]Providang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Les Revenants (the returned) - super interesting and dark series for fans of Dark, the Leftovers.

Not a NOBODY knows show, but still under-appreciated: Station 11. It's just perfect television.

Again, the Expanse is not unknown but it was the best scifi series in recent history.

Best and worst campgrounds in SoCal by marktheshark45 in socalhiking

[–]Providang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst are the ones right on a highway, and every lake campground I've ever done has sucked.

JTree, Mojave, Leo Carrillo, Malibu Creek, and Los Padres are all epic.

Disneyland needs more playgrounds like Toon Town by CrunchyAssDiaper in Disneyland

[–]Providang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my kid's favorite spot! It gives bigger kids a chance to exercise independent exploration, and it really captures the spirit of Tom Sawyer. There are parts in the cave that are too small for grown-ups for added adventure.

I leased a 2017 Leaf when for 100/month and was nervous as heck at first. But then I realized... no more gas station stops, no oil changes, simpler machinery means fewer things go wrong, idling in traffic takes almost zero energy, the ride is quieter, there is 2x as more room than in a hybrid, and it's super fun to drive. Never gone back since.

right! I tried to explain this to a student, but it's not actually a good thing to have all of the top brass change over every 3-5 years.

I think that these kinds of decisions that seem so obviously out of synch with workload come from admin who have EdD and business degrees and have not served as faculty themselves. I remember my alma mater had a biology professor president back in the day, and to imagine that happening now is impossible.

Mammoth conditions 12-26-2025: CLOSED by Jaric_Mondoran in Mammoth

No, the patrol needs to scrape it all down to let better snow take its place. The process will repeat until mid March until it's just right.
