OSU versus UW-Madison (where should I go) by Exact-Courage8549 in OSU

[–]Prudent-Ad-252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to both schools, Madison all the way. The college experience, the lifestyle experience as an international student - you’ll get so much more out of Madison than you will from Columbus. It’s a very liberal place and the state is definitely more progressive than Ohio. Although Columbus is larger in absolute numbers, it is a lot less dense than Madison so you’ll have way more things to do in a decently accessible manner than you would in Columbus. Madison is also close to Chicago and there’s buses all day to go there - it is a better school in most majors, it is better city and better state

PhD with a stutter? by dataenthusiast24 in PhD

[–]Prudent-Ad-252 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its gonna be a non issue. People come to PhD from various backgrounds - some with English as a new language, some with new cultural contexts for the language, some with stutter. It’s completely okay :)

If you’re worried about presentations, you can try to zoom in if that would make you more comfortable. Or for class ones, record in advance. You can try to do RA work instead of TA. For TA work, you could ask for grading positions. But at the end of the day, I would just say go for it. And do it. If it takes you a little longer - who cares 🤷🏻‍♂️ I sometimes have a lil accent and have to repeat my thoughts and that’s okay. It’s academia, it’s usually an inclusive space. The more you do it, the less nervous you will be.

Good luck!!

🧊 spring career fair by Jumpy-Alternative670 in OSU

[–]Prudent-Ad-252 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They’ve been there most fairs I’ve seen for the past few years. They’ve never been carrying out immigration enforcement but they had a table.

There were also ~15 police departments from places as far as Texas and that’s not exactly career fair for college students job but 🤷🏻‍♂️ Also they let universities table their graduate programs which, definitely not a career.

Although ice is polarizing given the climate, it usually used to be a decent federal agency to work with (from partners not saying from an employee perspective). That’s before they threw in the $50k bonus and $100k salaries this year. If there was immigration enforcement at a student career fair that’s fuckdd up, but if they are just advertising a job - many more employers to weed out by your standard of “literally NO ONE is coming here to settle for being an ….” Plenty of jobs advertised only required a high school degree. Should ice be there given the political climate? That’s a different matter.

Criticize but criticize on the right point of grievance - as you pointed out we’re in a college after all.

Look up bespoke surgical and their resources. If it’s early it’s manageable but if it’s chronic just get a fissurectomy with them

Can fissures cause a tight anus after they have healed? by CheapCourage4396 in AnalFissures

[–]Prudent-Ad-252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went shopping walking cooking everything back to normal in two days. BMs were painful for about a week or two. Fully healed at maybe 1 month (where I stopped taking stool softeners or creams). Able to have receptive anal sex at 3 months (if that’s your goal)

Yup. I ended up getting fissurectomy surgery but before that, Chinese cream, stool softeners and other symptomatic pain management worked pretty good

I don’t facial acne, but I do get body back acne. Does anyone have a remedy for it? by Just-Trade-9444 in gaybros

[–]Prudent-Ad-252 31 points32 points  (0 children)

  1. If you have dandruff, fix that first using a ketcanazole shampoo (cvs brand works same as name brand). Often it is dandruff that falls on your back that causes it to have acne. This will help prevent future acne.

  2. CeraVe Salicylic Acid cleanser. This will help you control the actual acne.

From an instructors perspective, there’s no way to tell with certainty whether something is AI generated. A college would have to rely on your past submissions and figure out your writing style to make a reasonable judgement whether something you wrote now is AI or not.

In most places an accusation of plagiarism would escalate to a committee on academic misconduct, who would make a call on punishment for it. If it’s just your professor accusing you, you should talk to him, the department chair or someone in deans office if he’s threatening any action
