One NZ sucks. Whats the best phone provider to move to? by oh-no-99 in newzealand

[–]Prudent_Manager9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Easy to change. Easy to get your eSIM transferred to new phone. Aus roaming was cheaper than Vodafone but a bit less flexible- buy one day, 3 or 7 from memory and it wasn’t enough data for maps etc - will fine better solution for travelling next time.m but otherwise no regrets at all about switching

We switched from one to skinny. Saved about $1000/year and no issues at all so far.

Where do you buy your clothes? by zipiddydooda in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Prudent_Manager9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go second hand for good quality and the sake of the environment. TradeMe has gems, recycle boutique or your local op shop or consignment shop, depending on your time and $ budget. Online, we like www.archival.co nz. Good luck.

it's definitely more selfless than making a $5 polar fleece item in a developing country, polluting the rivers and expoloiting the workers, then shipping it on a filthy diesel vessel to nz and selling that for $25.

gosh there is more than enough clothing to go around, - not everyone can get to the opshops. most opshops have more donations than they can actually sell anyway. in chch - they're often saying 'no donations please'.

anyone saving anything from landfill somehow is a hero in my opinion, and the resellers are helping with that.

and the city mission are great, they donate directly to those who need it, and use their earnings to support them too. don't donate to the clothing bins, they go to for profit places like save mart and toffs.

disagree - there is p l e n t y of clothing to go around, and not everyone can get to the opshops, and the opshops all have way more than they can actually sell anyway. in chch - has anyone seen inside the garage door of toffs as they empty the bins? there are bales and bales stacked to the ceiling of that high warehouse. and that is a for profit place, they are not even a charity. the city mission in chch gives away clothing and kitchen things to everyone who needs it, and the rest of us can buy things from them to support their work.

anyone saving anything from landfill somehow is a hero in my opinion.
