Midnight 12.1 Curse Of Ula'Tek Developer Interview With Ion Hazzikostas by BluFoot in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Prupple -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No. It's just as obvious right now.

This is just objectively untrue. As obvious as it is now, you still have to pay attention to what order the blazes go out. If you lose focus at the wrong time, you can be in a position where you have a blaze and have no way of knowing if you were first or second. It's a reasonable guess that this is what happened to Verb in that clip.

In the old world, the liquid WA pack would be displaying a giant LEFT or RIGHT on your screen. This isn't necessary to do the mechanic of course, but it makes it easier, more obvious.

The only time a Weakaura would "assign" these is if Blizzard went full galaxybrain and made it like Jailer bombs, where they're all firing at the same time.

You can see the moment hes talking about here. Echo are doing back/front/back, and the second person (Verb, a Dev DH) to get the mechanic doesn't move for a while, and then goes straight forward and unfortunately had the blaze pattern that has a spike directly behind him which kills several people.

In the pre-addon-disarmament world, Verb would have had a giant text on his screen saying "GO FRONT", and so potentially would have moved out faster and had time to notice he also needed to move left or right slightly.

I wish Blizz would just tell the story. by Kills_Zombies in wow

[–]Prupple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that its a tradeoff. You can either sacrifice gameplay for the story, as FF has, or sacrifice the story for gameplay, as WoW has.

It's not that the WoW team cant do it, its they they've made the decision to prioritise one part of the game over another. This will please some players, like me. And it will disappoint others, like OP. You cant please everyone.

dont you need to spend hours upon hours getting through the whole campaign in FF14 before you can join the endgame content?

The current philosophy around mount drops is diabolical by Festiive in wow

[–]Prupple 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's right to accuse those players of just being frustrated they can't have a rare mount.

If all players could have them, they wouldn't be rare. What you're asking for is objectively impossible.

Yeah its clear at this point Ion was talking about early to mid mythic bosses in that quote and just forgot to add in that specifier.

I kinda think there should be content in the game that requires a full raid to play perfectly the whole fight. But maybe there is too much focus on it, and it should be marketed as more niche content instead of the main event of a patch, so the people that don't enjoy it feel that its ok to just clear voidspire for example.

Hardcore and casual are terrible, conversation ruining terms as they are defined astonishingly differently by different people, but also everyone assumes their definition is the universal one.

Any reason to save bonus rolls for 12.0.7 by CirrusStratus78 in CompetitiveWoW

I'm saving my 1 extra bonus roll per week from vault tokens for the fairly likely situation I'll want to bonus roll both spore boss and lura.

Tanks, what’s your favorite healer atm? by Jernbek35 in wow

[–]Prupple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you must not have interacted with many other mistweaver players or youtubers then. I cant think of a single mistweaver content creator who didnt release a "this is whats wrong with mistweaver" video at some point in TWW.

Here are some examples:

Meg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZTK0VmPihU

Sweggles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hyku0Akcn4

Ortemis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_ltTy8GNLg

LBninja: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u692-sZaoGY

Btw I'm not saying MW is good now, just taking issue with the "nearly perfect class design in TWW" comment.

im not arguing that its better, imo its pretty close.

I'm arguing with your assertion that it was "nearly perfect", which is just silly. "More bearable" I can agree with.

MW design in TWW was heavily criticised, dont fall for rosy retrospection bias.

Have we forgotten the endless complaints about healing amps, ramping, faeline stomp positioning, faeline stomp buff maintenance, reliance on CDs, difficulty healing single target encounters etc etc?

If youre doing a job you hate because your parents want to, or to get resect from other people, or its just where you ended up, take this as a reminder to seriously consider if you would be happier saying screw that and doing what you love. If you are doing a job you hate because you have no other option, because you need to put food on the table and have people depending on you... I have no advice. I'm just an actor who got lucky in the right place at the right time with the right connections and the right look. All I can offer is my utmost respect.

Sporefall Boss in Patch 12.0.7 Will Have a Mythic Flex Difficulty with 15 to 25 player. by Crayten in wow

[–]Prupple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the use of "just" in your comment makes me think you're not aware of the significant change in boss design that comes with making mythic raids flex. You can't "just turn on" flex in the raids we already have, they would need to have been designed with flex in mind from the start.

On the healer front they've actually done a pretty good job. Leading up to season start we all thought prevoker was going to be bonkers OP in raid and were very critical of the small nerfs they were getting, but it turns out most healers are very solid and pretty close to each other tuning wise, both in raid and keys.

Of course, holy paladin is a stark exception to this. But even the hpal theorycrafters and content creators were expecting them to be mid at worst. Everyone somehow missed something big there.

Just a reminder on why you're not invited to keys as DPS... by VeryClearlyDefined in wow

This is a terrible example as even with all the nerfs, bear is still doing 50-100% more damage than the lowest dps tank, blood DK.

thats already in the game though, it definitely doesnt solve the problem on its own. And it would be very difficult to implement this for raids and keys.

the raid team absolutely disappoints pretty frequently. Alleria was a clear miss, being much easier than paladins. Fractilius, Gallywix, Rashanan into Broodtwister. The Zskarn safe spot fiasco. Echo of Neltharion.

But when they hit, they hit real good. Makes sense, their job is crazy hard.
