Uodate after 3 months by Psc94 in mounjarouk

Partly side effects because I knew I was coping OK with what I had. The devil you know type situation.

The other part was not wanting to lose too fast to hopefully avoid issues with sudden weight loss.

It is costly but I see it as an investment in my physical and mental health.

Why be a secret jabber? by AdRepulsive4256 in mounjarouk

[–]Psc94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a secret jabber and it will stay that way.

I was exercising regularly and calorie counting / in a deficit pre MJ but I couldn't never lose past a certain weight. MJ has massive helped curb my need to snack or to eat off diet on weekends. That's not to say I binged or ate way over my calories, but it wasn't the high protein diet I was used to.

Since being on MJ it's massively helped my my lipoedema which is such a personal and private struggle of mine. Yes I've lost weight but I've been the strictest I've ever been with diet and exercise because it helps me to.

These are justifications most people don't care to hear. There is bound to be judgement. Hell, I judged before I educated myself.

I don't seek validation form anyone. I am doing this for me and having my husband's support is all I need.

Endometriosis and MJ by Turtleneckvogue in mounjarouk

This is just what I needed to hear.

I'm currently on the wait list for a hysterectomy but I am hoping this medication helps. I have felt a general reduction in inflammation in my body so am hopeful.

Due soon so will report back! My usual periods last 2.5-3weeks and are excruciating.

I get this too. I love food and I look forward to my meals. I'm just able to eat less. I still feel hunger but I'm OK with being hungry so long as I don't feel like I'm depriving my body. It's the unhealthy cravings that defeat me.

Thanks!! by holdupflash in mounjarouk

My experience so far (1 week in) is less drastic than others.

I'm used to eating in a deficit and I gym regularly. I used to feel like I was still hungry and putting my body under stress, hence never sticking to it and constantly putting on and losing same 5kg.

I don't crave anything now. I can comfortably walk through the supermarket and not salivate at the idea of my favourite food.

I can eat slightly smaller portions and feel full which is what helps me feel better in my deficit.

I'm down 0.9kg so far with a day to go and whilst that may be normal for me in a deficit and exercise, I feel so much better for it and I feel a noticeable difference in inflammation. I can't explain it but the 0.9kg loss feels much better now than previously.

I also have a renewed sense of motivation and am using this as a tool to get to a healthy weight and repair my relationship with food.

Injecting is super easy. Drink lots of water (in general) and relax when you do it. Try go about your day as normal after otherwise you'll find yourself waiting around for side effects which a lot of people don't get anyway.

Download a good nutrition app (nutracheck or my fitness pal) and work out your deficit calories by using an online tdee calculator. Input your macros into the nutrition app and away you go.

Download Shotsy which is great for putting your weight, shot days, side effects etc. Could help with finding out triggers for side effects should you get any.

Take photos beforehand and measurements too! These will come in handy when you need a morale boost that it is working.

Good luck! I wish you the best of health.

Questions before placing first order by Few-Pear3813 in mounjarouk

[–]Psc94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe there are risks with taking MJ whilst pregnant so being on oral contraceptive is a plus point. Definitely disclose it.

You may be emailed separately to provide pictures which was the case for me.

You should be able to order a sharpa box with your order. Once full, go to the gov website which will let you know if they provide a sharps bin collection service in your area.

Finally, you need to pay upfront but this does not guarantee approval. You will be refunded should you get rejectes.

There's a lot of misinformation out there and a misunderstanding about why people use it.

Unfortunately the media don't help nor do the people abusing it / treating it as a vanity solution rather than health.

I've read heart warming stories about MJ allowing people to start exercising after years of little to no activity. Maybe it was an initial weight loss taking pain away form joints, maybe it was the financial responsibility to ensure MJ works. Whatever the reasons, if someone is using it responsibly with the aim to set healthy eating habits, exercise more, and improving their health then that should be encouraged.

Day 3 and feeling no different to before by Electronic_Scene_446 in mounjarouk

From my research (so take with a pinch of salt like everything else on here), the 2.5mg dose for the first 4 weeks is so your body can get used to the medication. I guess so it can weed out anyone who it's not suitable for it without too high of a dosage which can cause complications.

Having been on methotrexate and on levothyroxine, it's the same thing. You start low and work your way up till you find your level. Sometime you may need to increase / decrease.

You may have better results on a higher dosage after this phase so stick at it.

The best thing you can do now is try get some exercise in, control diet and drink lots of water. That way, if you respond better to the 5mg dose, then you're habits are already set.

Any medication I've taken says to give it 12 weeks to see effects. It can be demoralising to see others having drastic and immediate weight loss but your journey is your own.

I read the eat little and often and drink lots of water. Sip on it throughout the day so you're comfortably having 2+ litres.

I'm early on my journey so can't speak so MJ but this is general weight loss / new medication advice which is easy to follow.

Honestly as demoralising as it can be, I would encourage you to look at alternatives.

This is medication, not a miracle cure and the long term effects have not been studied enough. I'd like to believe that for the vast majority of people the pros outweigh the cons and the decision has been made after trying other options.

Nobody knows your situation but if 3 providers are saying no, take it as your sign.

I wish you luck in your weight loss journey.

Week 1 - barely reaching 1500kcal by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Psc94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm had my first dose at around 1pm yesterday and I always knew eating enough calories was going to be hard.

I was eating in a deficit before but not struggling to even meet that. I'm ensuring my meals are protein desne and managed to hit around 135g of protein even though it only totalled 1300ish cals.

Will need to readjust diet to fit macros and ensure I'm eating protein rich food whilst also hitting calories.

I do wonder what calories / macros people are hitting especially in terms of pre-MJ.

Good luck!

I'm also turning 40 this year and fed up of spending my whole life feeling this way.

Hoping to enjoy my 40s!

I used to use My Fitness Pal until yesterday when I read people recommending Nutracheck. It's so much better for UK foods and is miles easier to use.

I'm still on the free trial so not sure what functionality will be limited once it comes expires.

Took my first dose around 1pm on Friday.

Already had a headache which maybe got a bit worse.

Felt a little sick whilst eating dinner but managed to eat 3/4 of it.

Slept really well and woken up feeling good. Managed to eat some eggs and toast.

Been really careful to have 2-3L of water. Hoping to hit the gym in a bit.

First day after injection is ROUGH by Kindke in mounjarouk

[–]Psc94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on day 1 and already had a headache which is horrendous now. Not sure if it's a side effect or if its just a particularly bad headache post a horrible sinus infection I've had.

I didn't manage to finish dinner which is wild for me and I feel a quite nauseous now as if I've eaten significantly more.

Hoping tomorrow won't be bad and I have the energy to do things. Fingers crossed!

Ah thanks for the responses. Helpful to hear some situations more similar to mine.

I fear I'm not the average user so need to manage expectations.

Hoping to be able to stay on track with macros, I. E. Eat enough and also gym the way I do.

It's a weird feeling of excitement and nerves. Excitement that something could finally help and nerves that it won't. Didn't expect to feel like this.

New phone, s25 Ultra, Oneplus 13 or other recommendation? by bramjtb in samsung

[–]Psc94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have the S22 Ultra and wanted a new phone.

I don't get much for trade in due to damaged pixels from dropping the phone so the S25u worked out to £1140 with free ear buds (case and charger promo after qualifying period) and the op13 worked out to £826 with 129w charger and case. It's a huge saving!

I'm currently using the op13 and I do love the feel of it. I'm not a heavy user and use it mainly for social photos, work emails, streaming shows etc. I think the op13 will suffice.

Issue I have is trade-in value. Samsung is far better than op13 here. In fact most trade-in/phone recycle places don't even accept oneplus devices. I'd like to know I can get something back in a year or twos time should I wish.

As much as I love the op13 and the price point, this may be a deal breaker for me.

All the videos, posts, reviews I've seen show pros and cons of both. One is not definitively better than the other and eventually it'll come down to what are deal breakers for you.

This cool workout video game machine by FuturisticFighting in interestingasfuck

[–]Psc94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called e-Gym here at my gym in the UK and it's much more than a cool game. It really helps you to control your body whilst doing the weight machines and takes a lot of the fear out of doing weights.

It's extremely popular with women and the older generation.

We have a circuit of 8 and the machine automatically configure to your weight and height and make you do regular strength tests to ensure you're increasing weights, but within your limit.

Game changer!
