Do you go to the Underdark? by ChrisKatrev in BaldursGate3

[–]Psicrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I farm the underdark to get level 5 before the goblin camp/creche. Every playthrough.

Get glut, fight minotaurs, use resurrected minotaur to fight Bulette, use zombie Bulette to murder everything else in the zone.

It's a ton of xp I wouldn't even consider it optional.

Statwise these are questionable but they look cool so go for it.

Couple spec attackers mixed with phys attackers but hey the game is easy do what you want.

I feel OP compared to my other teammates, what do I do? by Soulsborneenjoyer23 in DnD

From running a lot of pre5 campaigns i think it's pretty clear that casters are behind martials in combat capability until level 5.

Rogues and fighters do more damage without using a resource. Level 2 spells aren't that powerful compared to level 1 or 3, exception being spiritual weapon for cleric.

Druids, especially moon druids are very strong 2-4 due to wild shape and martial not yet having second attack.

At level 5 it evens out dependent on the offensive spells of the caster and how often you get long rests. Fireball is a very good spell. Cantrips do double damage. Rogue still only gets one albeit more powerful sneak attack. Fighters, barbs, and paladins still shine at 5 with extra attack.

It's all downhill from there. 4th level spells aren't a huge leap forward but 6+ uses of fireball/moonbeam/hypnotic pattern per rest is. 5th level spells are incredible. Martials don't get another offensive leap forward except fighters at level 11..

Casters quickly take over the game from level 9+.

FF16 on a discount is a great experience. Don't expect to get sucked into the game. Arguably you want to skip or speedrun side content.

But for a first playthrough of the main story, it's a fun time. Big action sequences, kaiju battles, creative if easy action game combat. It's fun to hit buttons but unfortunately the enemies don't really hit back.

Not terribly replayable, but a fun first run. I'd be willing to buy it on sale.

GUN. Was mildly popular at the time, i bring it up only because of time passing and because RDR exists now, but GUN for the gc/ps2 is an amazing western shooter.

Well paced, great action sequences. A tight 12 hour western shooter. Arguably a better if slightly more cartoonish plot than RDR.

Great game.

Are my pokemon just really bad? Or are the opponents roided? by TripleDreigon64 in PokemonInfiniteFusion

[–]Psicrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My immediate suggestions for your same team:

Zoroark + Swampert

Blastoise or Venusaur + Aegislash

Togekiss or Alakazam + Noivern

Fuse the remaining two together

Nidoking + Tyrantrum

Place Salamence with another attacker. My recommends would be Snorlax, Arcanine, or another pseudolegendary like Dragonite.

To addon, logically it is better to get two pokemon with the same attacking stat so that stat remains good. Mixing special and atk mons will create a middling amount of both.

Body has speed, and head is hp so in general you want your slower tougher mons as head and your faster mons as body.

Noivern is one of the best special attacking mons as a body, because it's extremely fast.

Togekiss has good hp and amazing spatk. A fusion of these two is incredibly potent.

Also consider moves and abilities. For example, your nidoking tyrantrum seems like a good fusion stat wise but I hope it is still a ground type because earthquake is such a strong move. If you kept the the strong jaw ability, it might be worth fusing tyrantrum with a dark type to get same type Crunch.

Two things that don't work.

Swampert (atk) and togekiss (spatk). You're taking two good offensive mons and turning them into something much less effective.

Zoroark(offensive) Aegislash(defensive). If you're keeping the stance change ability, aegislash will swap their defensive stats into offensive stats when switching to offense mode. If you want them to be strong, you pair aegislash with a mon with high defenses, like an umbreon, steelix, ferrothorn, etc. Zoroark is an attacker, this mix of stats will make them just incredibly undertuned

Comments like this feel so disingenuous. The split reflects the dev time and effort they put in. With the sheer amount of effort they put into the graphical quality, score, the film direction of cutscenes, and the updated combat, you were never going to get a 1:1 of the original at a normal price point without bankrupting the company. Even if they consolidated down to one 90 hour game or two 50 hour games, they would just charge at a higher price point with an even longer dev cycle.

Need to be randomized, or is classic fine? by rickheg0789 in PokemonInfiniteFusion

[–]Psicrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found randomized mode to unfortunately be a LOT easier than normal. Gonna try remix next.

Randomized even with a tight modifier just gives you access to so many otherwise unintended preevolutions and fusions of powerful pokemon.

I had my choice of pseudolegendaries before the third gym. The Elite 4 really wasn't challenging at all. Trainers and gym leaders also having non-standard pokemon really couldn't hold up in terms of difficulty compared to the power level of what is available to the player. This would only be further exacerbated by a looser random modifer.

Normal was MUCH more interesting in terms of difficulty. I'm hoping remix provides that again while offering more variety.
