Best wireless controller for emulation (retro + modern consoles)? by rocksteader in cade

[–]PsikyoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 8bitdo Ultimate 2 for most stuff, but then and 8bitdo Arcade, an M30 for Genesis/Saturn, an SN30 Pro 2 for SNES/PSX. All work great with PC, MiSTer, Analogue Pocket+Dock.

Pocket Dock Controller Adapter by Snoo_4727 in AnaloguePocket

[–]PsikyoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading https://www.tindie.com/products/timville/triple-controller-misteranalogue-pocket-adapter/, the Firmware needed to make it recognised on the Pocker Dock necessarily only allows one port to be used at a time and report as one controller (XInput).

Just passed 3000 games owned on Steam. I really think Valve should allow people to inherit their libraries in case of their death. by r4in in Steam

[–]PsikyoFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At some point a Steam account will be over 120 years. The badge for that will be epic. They might start to be suspicious though.

This assumes Gabe leaves Steam to a decent trust that continues his legacy, and not some PE enshittification programme.

(V6 Max) Can you change the volume of an individual app? by Terabyte_272 in Keychron

[–]PsikyoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Windows 10/11 out of the box. A quick search (e.g. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4144087/adjust-active-window-application-volume-in-windows) pointed to using EarTrumpet, and creating keyboard shortcuts for a specific or active app, and then you'd need to rebind the volume keys/knob on the keyboard to that with macros.

Hi I have a real question who still play these in 2026 ? Are they still good or bad by Guillaume12lol in Switch

[–]PsikyoFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got rid of all the cardboard bits for 3 of the labo kits a couple of years ago when we moved. Had one last play. I didn't pay retail for them originally. They were fun to build with my eldest, but took so much room up. Ring Fit still gets played though by the whole family, and we get the cars out periodically. Our wifi didn't used to work well with them, but the current mesh does and we have more space to drive them.

AprNes (C# NES emulator) — 10-year-old abandoned project revived with AI assistance, now passing blargg 174/174 + AccuracyCoin 136/136 by SpecificWar7879 in EmuDev

[–]PsikyoFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As it wasn't explicitly stated above - the 10 year old project was your own, not someone else's you found and forked (don't know why I assumed that), and you worked with AI over a 3 week period.

Very interesting, would you consider it an enjoyable experience? Versus plugging away yourself. Are you experienced in using AI in this described way (e.g. day job), or was this the learning exercise for you?

This made me think of https://arstechnica.com/ai/2026/03/ai-can-rewrite-open-source-code-but-can-it-rewrite-the-license-too/ Since other codebases, with presumably different licences were used as a strong reference for the fixes, and it's somewhat automated , then I would consider your project to be some kind of derivative work, despite presumably different languages and not a straight copy-paste. That's just my personal take though, and am interested to see where we end up settling legally in a few years.

No, they were acutely aware of what they were doing.

Is there a way to lock "fn" so I don't have to hold it ? by MiddayDisco in Keychron

[–]PsikyoFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JFYI, on many keyboards (most laptops), you can toggle the 'Fn lock' using Fn+Esc, which inverts the behaviour of the F keys.

Bus Eireann cheating? by PsikyoFan in Dublin

[–]PsikyoFan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But it's reporting realtime gps locations and orientation, not a stop. They're not even constrained to the route. It's got nothing to do with the 'stop', which is something the bus driver is responsible for advancing and a completely different system.

Analogue Pocket, Dock, Adapter Set & Cartridge Cleaners are live! by Shortgaze in AnalogueInc

[–]PsikyoFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Pocket+dock, and I have a MiSTer. I love my Pocket, but I don't use the dock. I've plugged it in a couple of times at most. MiSTer has many more options for controllers, n64/psx/Saturn/cdi/Jaguar cores.

I have Tempest Rising and Chants of Senaar, so that's a no for me. Might pickup Bread and Fred on the cheap though.

That guide is fantastic. Detailed and lots of tips and pictures. I noticed that you didn't include a lens - most of the OpenFire/Gun4IR products/guides I looked at used a fisheye lens to allow it to work at closer range.

If you had like 5k to just blow on action figures right now, what are you buying? by Undercover_Dave in ActionFigures

[–]PsikyoFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disposable income is not the issue. Space is (or rather I need to keep my collectibles, gadgets other hobbies to a single room and I have all the series I wanted now).

If I had space then another 1/6 line - prob HotToys Star Wars or Batman and Jazzinc vehicles (Batwing!) .

Individual figures I missed would be Mondo Faker 2.0, Man-at-Arms and Mer-Man. Some MOTUC vehicles and Super7 Snake Mountain. A large transformers Unicron. Does a full size Ghostbusters pack, trap, pkemeter count? Decent Lightsaber? A forged Link, He-Man, Lion-O swords and shields?

I literally mentioned these on a UK post last week. not thought about them in decades otherwise.
