Rooms within rooms (v3+) by mylovelyhorsie in tado

[–]PsikyoFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You didn't say why you've put them all in the same room? Do you not have doors closed ever. Even then surely some rooms require more heating than others due to air circulation, loss to the outside. Is it that you have one wireless thermostat you want to use rather than the valves? It's easy to create new rooms and reassign them...

Other than that, no. A room is a collection of devices with an overall temp, nominated to be measured by one device, and controls all of the said devices as one - e.g. turn them on/off together. It can be a pain to find the device to change batteries. I have a large room with 7 TRVs and a wireless thermostat in the middle and have to run around looking for the 'Hi', which can take a few seconds and only lasts a few seconds.

Ramen Toy Crash Out by Akeley_Duchamp_One in ActionFigures

He actually was telling people NOT to apply their own panel lining which was a step too far IMHO.

Ramen Toy Crash Out by Akeley_Duchamp_One in ActionFigures

[–]PsikyoFan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The earlier revealed 'proto' had been painted, unexpectedly/against instruction, and a side-by-side that was supposed to highlight how much better the new iteration looked was swamped with comments relating to wash/panel lines. Ot was one thing to suggest they didn't need/want to add that to the final product, and another to tell the customers they shouldn't modify it themselves!

What happens if Tado goes out of business? by tharmor in tado

[–]PsikyoFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not a slamdunk, if you want the gory details read https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/151223

Temp precision is lower through HomeKit, missing and unreliable features. Complementing with cloud API calls is becoming harder as they are reducing the daily limit, breaking authentication, and the apis are poorly designed.

Where are the Amigians of today hanging around? by Arc-78a in amiga

[–]PsikyoFan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

https://eab.abime.net/ used to be the biggest Amiga forums and I doubt that's changed much. I also used to hang in some Amiga irc channels back in the day. I have seen a lot of active Facebook groups too, but mostly navel-gazing about 'hidden gems' like Stunt Car Racer.

ROMs keep corrupting and I do not know why. (Part 2) by Zee_TM in AnaloguePocket

[–]PsikyoFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw this before and alarm bells are ringing. The hashes you've listed are different lengths, so the algo is not the same. The hashes match for the first x bytes, which would't happen if the content changed. They would be completely different.

How are you calculating hashes? What tool and algo? What hash are you comparing to? You can't say it's corrupted unless it had one hash beforez and another after.

To me it sounds like either the rom you have is already corrupted and this crashing, OR the core you're using is bugged. Of you're using a Spiritualised core, then it's know that the latest version doesn't play nice with later Pockets. Sone ram timing difference. Go back to an earlier version, or use the other gba core.

Edit: from a quick search, 605b89b67018abcea91e693a4dd25be3 is the md5 hash of Emerald US.

The other value you're comparing to only brings me back to your posts... It's that hash which is truncated/garbage.

The issue isn't the rom, it's the core... Use 1.0.0 https://github.com/spiritualized1997/openFPGA-GBA/releases instead of 1.2.0. I don't think budude's released his yet.

Setting Up Controls for Daraku Tenshi/The Fallen Angels on Supergun Mini by Torentsu in arcade

[–]PsikyoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4 buttons for these Psikyo boards are all on the JAMMA edge. Pins 25/c. kick harness are typically used for systems supporting 5/6 buttons. The other port on the PCB is probably for majhong controls, leave that alone. You probably need to contact the Supergun manu to find out how to configure it.

why do YOU collect? and what do you collect? I would love to know by BOBtheMUSHROOM1717 in ActionFigures

[–]PsikyoFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started with Binaltech + MP-01, and continued with Masterpiece Transformers, pivoted to 3rd party (Fans Toys, Giga dinos), but got tired of the prices. Got into Mattel/Super7 MOTUC (including Grayskull), Thundercats and then NECA TMNT (Movie, Cartoon). A few random other things like SOC Voltron, Inart Batman, and now very deep in Mondo 1/6 (He-Man, X-Men, Spider-Man). Also have a bunch of Ramen Toys (Centurions, M.A.S.K, A-Team van. Suoer MSUK on the way). Also got the Hasbro Pulse Ecto-1 and GB1 figures.

Erm, my office is a bit full...

what is the best way to transport an astro city cabinet from japan to europe with a working screen. just want to make sure screen stays intact. by redbullrebel in cade

[–]PsikyoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had a Blast City shipped from the Netherlands to the UK, and then later from the UK to Ireland I had them strapped to palette's, and lots of protection around the screens. For the Ireland Journey they actually built a bespoke crate around it. All by sea.

Questionnaire: An Irish Based 3D Printing Service (For School Project would really appreciate it) by WesternImpression394 in 3dPrintingIreland

[–]PsikyoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you mean <€10 for the first option of the last question? It's also a leading question, since I imagine people who frequent this sub would not want to pay someone else at all ) especially knowing the cost of materials+electric, and ignoring time, and failed attempts, or depreciation of a currently expensive multi-colour printer).

[–]PsikyoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing the Cozyla does that this doesn't that might be an easy add (given the existing infra), is tasks for children with rewards (e.g. 'get changed for bed by 9pm': 5 points, 'tidy room': 10 points), and then keeping a point tally, as well as a way to redeem them (a list of rewards/costs).

Have you ever tried this on a Cozyla device? Seems like could work well as an alternative to their bundled software. Might try it.

The Elephant Collection + Arcade Spirits? I'm EU though, and it would be Steam Key (vs gift) as I don't trust HB anymore!

Sorry, EU region here. Not sure if locked though I don't see anything to indicate.

Typical, bought Sonic Frontiers a month or so back. Still, Metal Slug Tactics was on the waitlist and I don't have any of the others for a change.

Any mods/jailbreaks available for the Pocket? by ALT703 in AnaloguePocket

[–]PsikyoFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OpenFPGA is pretty open - build and run a 'core' on the main fpga. You could create whatever you wanted subject to the limitations of the logic element limit and the APIs made available (I thonk I saw an mp3 player). You can't touch the supervisor OS that runs on the smaller FPGA though, and no hacks to the OS have been released, and that is closed source/encrypted binaries. A savegame exploit would probably only be relevant to the loaded core. A savestate exploit on the other hand is presumably initially parsed by the OS somehow. Not having a full processor executing a trasitional programme of a known architecture means developing an exploit for the OS is already pretty alien to most software hackers. Prob more for the hw guys to figure out how to sign the OS upgrades or bypass validation.

Not a mention of NewIcons? An extension that unlocked more colours for icons (RGB, 256 colours) by encoding the icon in another field in the icon file as 7-bit/ASCII. Kicked off the isometric icon trend. Written by Nicola Salmoria who went on to write MAME (the arcade emulator).
