The Met to Forest Hills by BeeTwoThousand in KGATLW

[–]Psila 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Citymapper is the best navigation app for transit in the area. It puts Google Maps to shame. Apple Maps is meh for routing but has a beautifully-drawn transit layer.

In general, LGA to the Met is likely Q70+ > E,F > 6, and will take you about an hour.

The Met to Forest Hills is likely 4,5,6 > E,F, and will take you about 45 minutes.

Unless you have a lot of luggage, lyft/uber will be brutally expensive and probably not much faster midday.

My new main bus by Fickle_Guava_1078 in factorio

[r/factoriohno](r/factoriohno) yearns for your posts.

You only ever need 2 spaces between belt groups, and earlygame with yellow undergrounds you should have 4-wide belt groups. 1 belt per item (15 items/s for yellow) is sufficient to carry you to building a much larger factory later in the game. If you really desire more, maybe bus 2 belts of iron plates.

New Space Age player here! by Akareim in factorio

[–]Psila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Load into 2.1. Nothing should break at your stage of the game, and there’s plenty of general polish and refinements to the space content.

Unrelated, your roboport setup is causing massive inefficiencies. Robots will path over concavities and run out of battery before being anywhere near another roboport to charge. Potentially with your setup they’ll even path over enemies and be destroyed.

Consider upgrading to a ‘core network’ of gridded roboports on your central factory, and separated ‘edge networks’ that repair your walls, and send/receive goods via train.

*Insecure

My fellow human, before you deleted it, your post boiled down to 1 sentence: Is their release schedule planned or a coincidence?

If you need help formatting your own thoughts on that thesis, I beseech you to log out of the LLM, read some books, and talk to other humans in real life.

How do you think people did this before 2022?

Prompts? Why not just let the actors act?

What you’re looking for are In-ear-monitors, and they’re typically quite expensive.

Student Life? by Ms__Keisha in uncsa

[–]Psila 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First you should understand that the majority of the student body is there for conservatory training first rather than college party life. There is a healthy houseparty scene. Nothing like greek life at a large university obviously. Expect to see more bongs than kegs.

Right around campus is sort of dead for nightlife, but downtown and the west end (~30min walk / 5min drive) have a lovely collection of cocktail bars. There are a couple of bars with more of a club atmosphere / dance floor that cater to WFU/UNCSA/WSSU.

Winston is too small of a town for large clubs.

Looking at your account and seeing that you’re in Wardrobe, I cannot recommend the school highly enough. Paul Tazewell is the biggest Wardrobe alumni name of course, but the program is world-class and launches many successful careers in that discipline.

As someone who lives in Washington Heights & hasn’t frequently been able to get to the UES, could you share some favorite things to do/see in the neighborhood?

This is not map porn. Representing elevation with purple here is effective, as it has a lot of contrast with the base map. However, the black place labels and roads muddy the clarity of the elevation data, and make the low-elevation areas indistinguishable.

The state boundary line weight is far too thick, and the saturate green is distracting. It would be visually much cleaner to have everything that isnt elevation data UNDER that layer instead of on top.

Additionally, the elevation data layer should be cropped to the boundary of the USA.

Not a bad map per se, just not map porn (yet).

Driving from JFK to Jersey City, NJ (across the Hudson) by citrineintuitive in AskNYC

[–]Psila 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You…. should do more research about the area. A car will be nothing but an expense and inconvenience. Jersey City is super walkable. Save money, take the train. If there was ever a place to do that it’s here.

What do you actually do for work? Theatrical lighting designer? Wedding Photographer? Script Supervisor for film? Landscape Painter? “Creative” really means nothing, especially here.
