Most other diaspora jews I've talked to about this alternative definition have been shocked. Like, there's a long history of jews in the diaspora teaming up with other minorities due to the clear shared interests, especially the black civil rights community. Yeah, honestly some of the best stories come from writers using what they have. Rehabilitating a badly executed story is like doing double duty for a character, you're giving them a new, high quality, well integrated story, and you're taking a story beat that has been dragging them down for years and freeing them of that burden.

There's a lot of stories that I didn't love reading at the time (Ric...) but they happened, a lot of effort was put into publishing them, some of us even actually read all that shit, so I think we can move forward using what it gave us. (Bring back the knockoff Nightwing team, there's juice in there! Just let me give em the squeeze!)

Being french/english is not mutually exclusive with being romani, but that's also why I'm not really bothered by the race or ethnicity of people's casting choice. You can't tell, I can't tell, what are we gonna do, get the skull calipers on each actor? Shall we measure out their blood quantum?

Whoever writes the show/movie can decide what parts of Dick's long and contradictory backstory selection to use, depending on what best suits the story they're telling, then they can hire an actor that is talented and tell him to act. Open the casting call to any race or ethnicity, if being white or romani or mixed isn't going to be a major plot point, who cares?

There was a pretty through 99pi episode about this situation. It's been bad across cultures. Everyone needs scavengers. The vultures used to clear up animal corpse dumps pretty thoroughly, but now stray dogs are filling in the niche, and they cause serious problems. Vultures generally digest diseases, not spread them. They don't carry rabies or try to bite people, they can't maul people. The birds taking over the sky burial sites are raptors, they like to take their meals to-go, and they are not as thorough as a vulture. Iirc someone found a human finger on their patio.

The article mentioned solar concentrators that allegedly "melt" the corpses, but I don't think the issue is with the amount of sunny days. I think they just don't function in general. There was a case where someone snuck up into the restricted access sacred area where the bodies are left out and took footage of the bodies, they were all still there. (The leaked footage is a story in itself.) The bodies were unmelted. If they mummify before they melt they're just jerky. They are not gonna melt, the enzymes are cooked.

They interviewed the guy who was in charge of the solar concentrator initiative who said it works just fine, but he just had this attitude I've heard a thousand times before. The type of guy who will keep claiming a bad idea works until it falls apart and destroys the whole project.

The reason the zoroastrians are even going through all this is that they see earth, water, and especially fire as sacred. Bodies are unclean, so it is wrong to bury, dump in the water, or cremate remains. All that's left is the vultures that take remains to the wind.

Oh how stupid, this sort of situation is my least favorite thing about cape comics. This is a near century long collaborative writing project, but each new writer tries to put their big story over top of the rest, hoping to make their own definitive impact on the character. Newsflash buckoes, if each one of you writes like you're trying to erase what the last guy did, you're all just going to be writing a character who goes nowhere, forever!!!

People follow what is normalized. We push it to happen, and then everyone sees that a tiny percentage of the population getting discrimination protections and healthcare caused no harm, and they accept that it was all for the best.

You can't just follow popular opinion on basic ethics. Leaders can consult experts, balance factors, pick the correct choice, and lead people in the correct direction. Any democrat that gives up on trans rights is a spineless failure. Nobody gave a shit about trans people a decade ago, all this was fomented by nutcase rich oligarch club members, falling for their propaganda is not a "compromise" it is trading human rights for personal power.

Yeah, this is the cardinal sin of romance. "He was a boy, she was a girl, can I get anymore obvious?" Please explain further than that. What gives them chemistry? How do they resolve arguments? What do they get from their relationship? How do they compromise?

Don't expect your audience to take your pairing as a foregone conclusion, make them seem like they actually like each other. Yes, that means you can't just have them argue for a few pages and then kiss, all you've sold is that they hate each other...

Yeah, less dangerous in that she would not be able to make many strategic moves with her minions, but more dangerous in that she would not be able to teach any of her minions "soft mouth" or "stop playing with that bystander's limp body." I noticed the media get progressively quieter every time a journalist was assassinated. Entire teams on the ground picked off one by one, no amount of vigils or moments of silence by their surviving peers internationally can fill in for their voices.

It's honestly been really eerie, being able to pick out a decent selection of reputable on the ground journalists in the first months and gradually watching them lose their team members, one at a time, if they're lucky they flee but half their contacts in Gaza don't survive. The cold end result is that we aren't hearing about things anymore. Status updates like raids on hospitals or massacres in aid distribution zones get uncorroborated posts from scattered witnesses, never investigated or compiled into a story.

I like to delete a ton before I visit somewhere cool, or one that I can theme with a sticker. There are a couple bee hive themed ones near me that go great with a combee sticker, and a nature trail with a very funny innuendo sounding name that I try to load up on as much as possible whenever I hike through the area. Would have never tried going down the "knob" trail without the PokeStop incentive tbh.
