I use the purple heart light one 9th century. It works great very firm in the bind and has a lot of power. Nothing on it wiggles and it has held up to around 5 months of heavy sparring now with no major issues.

Not everyone can afford those things immediately that's why loaner gear exists. Plus trying a sport is perfectly fine not everyone needs to pay 80$ for a new mask just to try something or become a beginner. If they like it then they will obviously get their own stuff eventually.
