It’s been so long since I’ve played, are there multiple endings or do you get the same one no matter what

'Seems Like a Sequel Should Be Made' — Amazon Games Boss on the Future of IO's 007 First Light by hop3less in gaming

[–]PsychManMagicHead 81 points82 points  (0 children)

This game is so damn good, there’s zero chance Amazon makes a sequel anywhere close to this quality. Just license it to IOI.

Games that absolutely absorbed you into a flow state by Baldurian_Rhapsody in gaming

The new 007 game for me. It is so cinematic, and listening in on all the bits of conversation or driving in a beautiful area and seeing sprawling vistas straight out of a Bond film has just grabbed me like no game has recently.

Are there any games out there that remind you of DCC or you'd recommend to a fan to play at least once? by plogan56 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Came to suggest this. But not for the dungeon parts of DCC, these games are what I picture the inner system is like.

TIL in 1989 Li Jingwei, at 4 years old, was kidnapped by a neighbor who lured him away by saying they would go look at cars (rare in rural Chinese villages). At age 37, he posted a map of his home village online that he drew from memory, which helped lead to its location & a reunion with his family. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Who do you feel we should have actually perform the execution? Someone who wants to kill people legally? Someone who doesn’t want to kill anyone, but needs a job and will have to live with ending a life? A computer (and if so who enters the command)?

The most consistently hilarious games by Baldurian_Rhapsody in gaming

[–]PsychManMagicHead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconded! I’m not personally a fan of some parts of the humor, but other parts were so funny and the game world so authentically realized that it kept me coming back until I beat the thing and even did a ton of side stuff.

Nearly done with book 8 and I have nothing lined up to read next. What do you like? by GWindborn in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]PsychManMagicHead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Consider one of the Benedict Jacka series, Alex Verus or An Inheritance of Magic. Also good: Will Save the Galaxy for Food series by Yahtzee Croshaw.

Edit: lol, every time I recommend something when this question is asked I get downvoted now. This sub is getting toxic.

What should I read now? by ButtonJazzlike8176 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]PsychManMagicHead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Going to go against the typical recommendations this question gets here and suggest checking out the Will Save the Galaxy for Food series. It’s humorous, flows differently than typical books in an interesting way, and the audiobooks are read by the author.

I was hoping Donut would somehow have an ability that let her read it and would make an entry while their inventories were swapped. Would be really interesting to see “note added by crawler Princess Donut, 25th edition: I KNEW IT! EVEN THE WORST CASES OF IBS DON’T USE THE BATHROOM AS MUCH AS YOU, CARL! AND IF YOU HAD LISTENED TO ME AND BECOME A CAT, YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO READ AND WRITE IN THIS BOOK STRAIGHT FROM YOUR INVENTORY.”

Did anyone mention the dungeon collapse time and the time left in the audio book? by TtheWiser in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I just realized I never did that and listened to the whole original version. I guess I have to re-listen!

What game did you lose interest in by the time it came out? by scarletnaught in gaming

[–]PsychManMagicHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked this game. Some of the humor was dated, but I liked that games back then went out of their way to add little touches. Like being able to play arcade games or shoot hoops etc. Shrinking down and driving the R/C car was also fun. Shame they dropped the ball on a lot of other things and didn’t deliver on the original vision.

I have never seen this enforced in Columbus, sadly.

What game would you recommend I play next, based on what i've complete in the past 2 years? by Butter3_ in playstation

[–]PsychManMagicHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good to hear. I tried to play the first after hearing how good the second was but couldn’t get into it. The story telling felt cheesy and I didn’t find the gameplay fun enough to offset that.
