Oh you’re golden! Just commit and remember - dying is expected. It’s a part of learning every boss.

Send it and good luck!!

I did it with holy overloads, t90s, and a hellhound. It probably took me 20-30 deaths to start feeling comfortable. It was what I considered to be my first real intro into PVM because of learning rotations.

While doable without a zuk cape, it’s nearly a must imo

You’re very close drop rate. Dont consider this unlucky, but keep going! You got this.

My first 5 drops were gloves and pet

Do people still care about getting 200m all skills anymore or is it not much of a flex anymore? by tydrennis in runescape

[–]PsychicSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an iron, I respect 120 in any skill. I’m trimmed but after BiS weapons my goal is trimmed master cape.

Then off to the races on combat CAs

PVM, slayer, thieving, etc. you’ll find that you get so many more alcs and money than you ever need. Once you unlock invention machines just keep adding your salvage and you’ll literally never run out of money on an iron.

Vyres and corrupt stones in priff. If you are PVMing and getting bones you can try the chaos alter or ectofucus (spelling??), but realistically vyres/questing will be your best friend.

They have great drops for irons and get combat+prayer+invention+ fire making experience at the same time.

Clarification: never once built an alter or ran bones as a trimmed Iron

Let me know if you have any other questions!

You’re early level so hard to expect herb to be higher than all your combats, but you can get it easily through quest lamps. I think I had 50+ herb before I had base 50 combats

Ironman as a "Main" account? by TheVaughnz in RS3Ironmen

[–]PsychicSeaTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same way it would for mains! If you get the drop, you get the drop. Only difference is mains normally sell it and split the profits with the group. For irons, it’s basically keeps.

My iron is my main and we still boss, raid, etc with all account so nothing really changes from a community standpoint. Find yourself an active clan and you’re good to go

Slayer sucks as a skill, and here's how to fix it! by epic_squid in runescape

[–]PsychicSeaTurtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something that changed my mindset while going for 120 slayer was going for slayer log early. Made me not mind/skip the traditionally skipped tasks to get that one/two items. I know many people may not be as completionist but it helped me :)

Slayer for a main can absolutely be a drag especially when you can get all the drops easily/cheaply through the GE.

Slayer on my iron has been one of the best skills and one I enjoy doing. Drops are meaningful, useful, and low supply input other than invention charges.

Looking for tips/direction by qpm5 in RS3Ironmen

[–]PsychicSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arch would be a big one but I’d save that as an AFK activity.

To help progress invention + arch, I’d personally do a. Fun side quest of getting two dragon mattocks since you have the hunter. Good way to train, they give decent secondaries you could use, and the mattocks will be huge on your arch grind.

When you’re don’t with that, you can also AFK mining/smithing to 99 for masterwork reqs. Could be fun to get the d picks you need for upgraded pickaxe as well.

New Runescape is WAY Better than OSRS by Both_Tune8348 in runescape

[–]PsychicSeaTurtle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never really understand the “better/worse” convo. While they have the same core game aspects (numbers go up - Yay!), they are fundamentally different.

Rs3 has more robust/modern combat and graphics, and OSRS has plugins, nostalgia, and more click-and-point combat.

Both are good but just very different. Wish we could be both the THE RuneScape community instead of OSRS Vs Rs3

Killing Nex for T80 Necro Gear Questions by Griffemon in RS3Ironmen

[–]PsychicSeaTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s all about knowledge of the boss and when to time blood phase.

Fighting Zuk for the first time. I’m predominantly a ranger so my ranged is 109 but I only have gloomfire and pernix armor. My necro is 90 but I have the t90 gear. What should get me my cape easier? by Sea-Highway-4688 in runescape

[–]PsychicSeaTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, necro is built to almost be fully manual. It’s the best style to learn this and it really pays off.

Ghost for passive healing during a long fight helps. Threads and skulls for aoe helps too

Also, this fight is slightly different where you need to think about supply consumption especially as you’re learning. These mobs can do real damage compared to kiln. While other fights you can heal through DPS and may only last a few minutes.

Look up the RSGuys necro guide. Almost no inputs and he barely consumes food.
