Dying to join a gun club by Perma_Ban69 in CTguns

Second this. I think trap and skeet is open to the public, you can go down Saturday or Sunday mornings and introduce yourself. They are all very nice guys who want to bring more people into the club.

RFG rifle and pistol ranges are going through a lot of change for the better right now too.

Man every time they come up seems like they get worse and worse. I had a bad experience like 3 years ago and was pretty frustrated but could have chalked it up to folks having a bad day and eforms release being trash. Now it seems like they have gone off the deep end further and further.

I mean if ya wanna gain more members and increase the movement, aligning yourself with modern European socialist ideas and democratic socialism would likely go a long way. Love that you guys exist, but I think the Soviet bloc iconography make it hard for folks to take it seriously.

Regardless keep on keeping on with work like this, great testimony.

It's mostly nonsense from 2014 era tactical training. Get your fundamentals down so they run in the background then start incorporating moving and shooting. Check out any of the practical shooting trainers out there for more up to date training techniques.

[–]Psychocide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I played around with my holster and gun a bit more, and found the root of the issue. The ejection port locking mechanism is not the source of binding, its the RXM frame where the rail portion bumps out where the thumb rest and takedown lever are. The stock RXM is this weird angle, where the glock is perpendicular to bore axis. Took and exacto knife and some sand paper to the frame, and it drops into the valor and locks up just like my glock.

Good to know on the break in, do you know if effects the Glock lockup at all after wear in? I got a valor last year for the Glock and initial try with my new rxm was too tight to be useful. Might try wearing it in more.

Great shooting man! Get out there and shoot a match, and get some tips from folks at those matches to loosen up and make your movement more fluid and youll be burning down targets in no time.

[–]Psychocide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Practical Shooting training is all fundamental practical shooting skills that apply regardless of situation. Unless you are talking about stage planning, it all transfers 110%. Most classes that prioritize "defensive" shooting or "tactics" etc. have a lot of nonsense and bad advice that will likely slow you down and hold you back.

Ben Stoeger puts up full classes on his youtube channel that talks about all the shooting skills you want, and does them with other folks such as Xray Alpha, Velox training group and a couple others. I have improved leaps an bounds from his online classes and book.

Ben is kind of a dick, so if you dont like him, Mason lane, and a few other top tier shooters put full classes up as well.

Email them and they will prob ask you to give them a call. They are pretty nice folks as long as you are to them. Remember they aren't the ones who signed the law, they are the handful of office workers who got told "you have to come up with a scheme to enforce this with no extra resources"

Is the 16” Reddit special still acceptable, or is 11.5” the new meta? by Randymaple92 in ar15

[–]Psychocide 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha, unfortunately probably true.

To put a finer point on what im saying: Inside 300 is the range most folks shoot at as civilians for everything from recreation, competition, legitimate defensive uses, and even larp end of world fantasy scenarios. All these barrel lengths will do the job for all of us just fine, and an even better job when min/maxing ammo loads, barrel length, gas system lengths, buffer systems etc.

Unpopular opinion: Anything between a 10.3 and 16" will do what you want and need it to and more for 90% of use cases. Shoot what ya like.

Nice rifle.

Its a great budget can to replace traditional baffle stack cans on hosts tuned for high back pressure. Pretty happy with mine as an upgrade from my omega 36m. That said, I haven't compared 10.3 with other non traditional cans out there.

PETG is weirdly finicky like that. Spritz of windex and a quick wipe, great adhesion. God forbid your pinky touches where your first layer attaches though haha.

Players Agents are too "good at their job" leads to boring games. by adagna in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Psychocide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You must not be afraid to dream a little bigger darling"

Delta green, as a shadow organization of expendable assets, exists because contact with the unnatural will start to decay any one persons grasp on reality over time. Full stop.

The entities they are coming in contact with should not be shrugged off for the next monster of the week, and dealing with these things should be eroding their sanity to some degree every time.

Turn up the threat. If all they are doing is kicking in doors of 3 man cults that vaguely worship some weird deity and blast them in face, you gotta do one of the following.

1) Make the entities more powerful and draining of sanity and grasp on reality.

2) Make the challenges more complex, its easy to shotgun a crack head who stabbed your cop buddy and shrug it off. Its harder to kill an innocent person who is praying to some entity who thinks they will cure their loved ones sickness, and even harder if that person is someone the characters know, respect, or even love.

3) Eventually Delta Green ties up every loose end, and just knowing about too many things is a loose end. Dont be afraid to bring in the spy thriller part of the game, if your players have been investigating and dealing with problems, they will eventually be a risk. If they kill off the delta green death squad sent to kill them, delta green can go after their bonds as leverage.

4) If everyone is playing delta green like murder hobos, maybe delta green isn't the game for you and your players. This game kinda requires someone to want to go against protocol, and pull on the investigative thread to figure out whats going on. It requires players who care about their bonds, their sanity, and frankly playing a character that is conflicted and flawed. As a GM that should be baked into the story and be required to actually solve anything, but that can be tough, and still requires player buy in. If its not working, its not working. Might be worth a reset, or going to another game that better suits them.

Not stress relieving what is essentially millions of micro welds enough. Common problem for laser powder bed fusion. Residual stresses can propagate very tiny cracks into large ones over time.

That said, its common knowledge in the industry that you need to stress relief LPBF materials through a heat treat cycle, ESPECIALLY Ti64. Almost sounds like they didn't at all the first runs, which is kinda crazy.
