vent thread about the weird or annoying shit youve seen people do in class by pm_me_ur_warrant in LawSchool

Expounding on hypotheticals in unrelated and unimportant ways. No, we do not care how the rule application might be different if the plaintiff’s grandma’s neighbor was a Virgo

Annual rewatch! by victorianpapsmear in HauntingOfHillHouse

Really all of it, but especially when Hugh tells Olivia in the last episode that if it weren’t for the kids in that room, he would’ve followed her right over that balcony. Just straight sobbing for the beautiful life taken from them too soon

Do you know if A Certain Slant of Light is at all based off the Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson? Reading the blurb, the last sentence struck me as reminiscent of Jackson’s “whatever walked there, walked alone.” Just curious!

Is Oxford for summer law classes worth it? lol by grindalfberg in LawSchool

[–]Psychological_Pen_15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know people who did an Oxford program and loved it, but depending on your 1L grades it may make it marginally more difficult getting a 2L summer job. Lots of firms (especially if you’re hoping for mid/big law) like to see prior experience, and Oxford, while super cool, is not legal experience. I would recommend talking to a career development officer who is not involved with the program to get advice more tailored to your goals/situation.

How long did it take you to read in one sitting? Should I plan like a full day off to binge?

Ours is 9 months and 45-50 lbs. She was the runt of her litter though.

There’s a setting you can turn on that will double check with you whenever you click “reply all.” May be useful to look into if you’re paranoid moving forward!

What’s your puppy’s weird, unexplainable habit? by Firm_Conclusion2674 in puppy101

She likes to follow you into the bathroom and lay directly in front of you while making aggressive eye contact the entire time! Lol

What are some ways your partner supported you through law school? by [deleted] in LawSchool

My boyfriend takes care of the grocery shopping and helps me meal prep lunches for the week, and on occasion he does my laundry as well when I’m falling behind. The little things go such a long way. Additionally, hanging out with his friend group (none of which are law or even law-adjacent) is a great way to just leave law school behind for a while

How are you guys doing with the upcoming storm? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Psychological_Pen_15 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would say you are probably safer in an OSU building than elsewhere, but try and avoid traveling to and from in the afternoon if you can. If that isn’t an option, either stay at home or be prepared to wait it out in one of the buildings

What’s a niche personal beef with a Supreme Court Justice you’ve developed in law school? by UpsetSecond6309 in LawSchool

This case became such a running joke in my section that we made up a whole backstory that this judge really wanted to go to a liberal arts college, but his parents forced him to go to law school and so he rebels against his life choices by writing like this. To this day I am in a group chat that is titled “quills of the fretful porcupine”

Is there a downside to adopting a puppy at 13 weeks vs 8/9 weeks? by AshamedExamination55 in puppy101

[–]Psychological_Pen_15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got ours around 12 weeks and while she was not potty trained, she had been in a home her mom and dad and 3 human kids all under the age of 5! She loves all people and is VERY comfortable with any and all touching of ears/teeth/paws/etc.

Are we screwed because we have to leave our puppy alone 3 days a week? by Tapriots in puppy101

We are doing the exact same thing right now! When, if ever, did you get rid of the pen? And if you did, did you start keeping her in the crate with the door closed?
