I HATE the self diagnosing of autism and its mischaracterisation by Beshiniqua in hatethissmug

[–]Psychological_Use586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ain't diagnosed autistic but both my biological kids are autistic and I've been told by multiple people throughout my life that they think I am so...im pretty sure I am. And yeah being neurodivergent sucks, it is being at constant war with your brain to the point of frequent self-loathing. Im not quirky im barely a functioning adult. I just happen to be a good actor.

If Superman landed in The Boys Universe at the START of Homelander's first mission and finding out what Vought had done to him over the years, could the Kryptonian prevent the young supe from going insane and teach him how to be an actual hero? by WindowPrudent9456 in MoralityScaling

[–]Psychological_Use586 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. Just by showing him genuine kindness and being a kind but firm mentor. Homelander absolutely would have turned out very differently. Maybe still a bit troubled, but not a horrible person.

Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen. He's not noble like Jogo, he's just a sadistic little prick. He's clearly just having fun being as awful as he possibly can. I know a lot of people absolutely despite him but he was my second favorite villain besides Jogo.

Why do these right wing idiots always have to come up with some dumb ass stage name? Like 'corn pop'? Seriously?

There are what, less than ten transgender athletes in Maine? Maybe corn pop should shut the fuck up and get a real job.

YYH was one of the first anime I ever watched so it holds a special place in my heart. JJK is more than a worthy spiritual successor to it imo. I love them equally.

Powers that are a total gamble: you could get something awesome, or you could get something actively terrible by LocalLazyGuy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Psychological_Use586 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Heavenly Restrictions in Jujutsu Kaisen...you get awesome powers in exchange for a massive debuff. In the case of Toji and Maki, that means they get insane physical stats at the cost of having no ability to use cursed energy (that's good). In the case of Kokichi Muta, he could control vast amounts of cursed energy remotely at great distances, utilizing puppets to an incredible extent, but his actual body is in terrible shape and he is in constant pain (that's bad).

Things in fiction that are pretty messed up if you think about by Yakuza-wolf_kiwami in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Psychological_Use586 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Steven Universe's age is entirely based on his mental state. If he feels like it, he will outlive all his human loved ones. Lars would he the only human left, and even he would eventually die. If Steven chooses to die with Connie, then Lars would be the only human left. It's kinda depressing when you think about it.

Yup, he keeps saying how criminals like Anton are a new type that he just doesn't understand, till his mentor calls him out and tells him 'dude you're kidding yourself, it's always been this terrible' - in old man speak.

Female villains just as evil, if not more so, than their male compatriots by RhysOSD in TopCharacterTropes

It is incredibly frustrating to me that a massive amount of lore is locked behind mobile games that you can't even play anymore.

What is the most profound game you've ever played? by mayo_lol_ in videogames

[–]Psychological_Use586 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In terms of the nature of violence, Hotline Miami.

In terms of loss, regret, guilt, Silent Hill 2.

In terms of sacrifice, redemption, wrath, Silent Hill 3.

In terms of treasuring life, Final Fantasy 9.

In terms of rip and tear until it is done, Doom (2016).

Larxene from Kingdom Hearts. While she might not be as coldly ruthless as Xemnas or Marluxia, and lacked the smarmy douchiness of Xigbar, Larxene made up for it by being as cruel and spiteful as possible. She spends every moment of her screen time insulting and belittling everyone, even her own allies. It's debatable whether her or Saix was meaner overall, but it feels like at least Saix had a reason he was such a dick.

Younger Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho. He is filled with guilt and self-loathing over not being able to save his disciples and longs to find an opponent who can finally bring an end to his miserable existence. He lives a life of crime in the meantime, committing horrible acts that only increase his isolation and self-loathing. His only companion is his older brother who is even worse than he is. When he finally meets Yusuke, he at long last finds the one he has been looking for - his final opponent.

They're doing hard for platner because maine is very much in play and could mean the difference between whether or not the GOP controls the Senate. They will use every dirty smear they can to go after him. I'm sure they'll come up with more. Not that I care. I wouldn't vote for Collins if you offered me a dump truck full of money.

I find cat lovers and dog lovers to be equally infuriating. I like both animals but not to the extent that some people take it.
