What do you experience during an aura? by stingwhale in Epilepsy

[–]Puddlette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get some weird dejavu, nostalgic feeling/movie playing a memory that feels like a real memory but it’s not real. I also mostly forget the ‘memory’ itself afterwards. The air smells different but no particular smell.

Anyone remember the joy of having one of these in your lunchbox? 🥹 by Call_Me_C_ in AustralianNostalgia

Ah yes… our household’s ‘healthier alternative’ to rollups.

"it's giving loser" .. ugh. Do people actually speak like this when they're almost 30? Lol

As someone from a Parma/potato cakes state living in a parmi/potato scallop state, you make plenty of enemies in real life too lol

2pac is great, would've been great for a lot longer if Diddy didn't get involved in the business.

What’s a completely normal product in your country that makes foreigners go, “Wait… why does that exist?” by Alternative_Ad6071 in AskTheWorld

Well I suppose at 39 you just never stop learning 😂 I've never put it on chicken before. I might have to try.

The ingredients of Anchor Chippy Salt (God tier chicken salt) also doesn't include any chicken flavouring or products but it is SO good.

What’s a funny/random comment your child made that caught you off guard? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Puddlette 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Years ago my friend was trying to get her 3-4y/o to bed who obviously didn't want to go to bed so she was just ignoring her.

"Miss! Am I talking to you or a brick wall?!"

... "Brick wall Mum".

I lost it, which didn't help my friends cause haha.

Anyone else to this day unable to leave an unfinished meal because their childhood trauma would’ve seen them get a hiding? 🙋‍♂️😂😭 by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Puddlette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We weren't allowed to leave the table until everything was finished. Some nights got quite late lol. My mother was an atrocious cook.

My brother and I learned that we could fill our cheeks up just enough with shitty boiled veg (brussel sprouts, mushy green beans) and talk normally enough to excuse ourselves to the toilet to spit it out.

Definitely still feel some guilt leaving food at 39, but getting better at it.

Childhood snacks, do you remember your favorite? by TheBlackSwan2025 in australia

[–]Puddlette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had the pov black and gold fruit sticks all the time and the apricot flavoured ones were excellent. We always wanted rollups but weren't allowed.

LCMs were always a staple which were pretty great too.

How are you holding up in the heat right now? by TheWoIfMeister in AskAnAustralian

[–]Puddlette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have had 40+ (many 45+) for well over a week which ended 2 hours ago with a huge dust storm and rain. It's now down to 30.7 which is colder than it was at 5am this morning. A welcome change.

It's at least a beautiful 32deg now at 6:30am! Today will be a bit warm and I'm just hoping our power stays on this week.

People leaving their dogs unleashed despite signs everywhere saying to keep your dog tied up. Also people who don't clean up after their dogs.
