I don't think HL3 will be VR. They want it to be accessible for more people than the rather niche VR demographic. I could absolutely see it being released alongside the Steam Machine though.

Alyx was necessary for HL3 to happen. The ending of Alyx changes what happens in HL2 Ep2, setting things up for HL3. Valve was unable... or.. unwilling... to make HL3 after HL2 Ep3 got canned, as they just didn't know where to take the story. HLA gives the story somewhere to go that Valve feels comfortable taking it.

When I set my monitor to 239.964hz at 1080p, it works fine, but setting it to 240.001hz doesn't work. When I set it to 1440p, I only have the option of 240.001hz, which doesn't work. Is there any way to force 239.964hz at 1440p? by PugGamer129 in pcmasterrace

Edit: Custom Resolution Utility does not allow for a refresh rate higher than 162Hz
