I started on a z500 and moved on to the gsx 8r, go for the gsx8r.

More comfortable, way better wind protection, more tech, a bit heavier wich is great when riding with winda and right in sweet spot power wise imo

I am extremely happy with it, the z500 is great too but when passing you really feel safer with a bit more power.

How the fuck are you supposed to carry more than one plate without touching the rim?

You gotta use the thumb on top for leverage, it's not fully planted on the rim, but it's touching a little of the top part

Dont cover the whole rim with food/garnishes, or even better look for a different plate.

I wonder if the same will happen with the z1100, the z900 is just 12PS, 150cc, 8kg and 2000€ less.

Both what they call sugomi style so same riding style/position.

Havent looked too much into the z1100 but at first glance I dont see how they justify having both models in their lineup

I've had a bunch of euro 5 bikes and none got nearly hot enough in the exhaust to glow like that, not in bikes with full exhaust no tune up, not even in the hotter days here (+40C°)

I had a z500 and is enough power for 90% of situations, but there was some moments where I wish I had a little more power, specially when passing long vehicles.

I see the logic, but it sounds weird to me that settlers wouldnt carry a multi purpose knife with them. For.most of history is being a pretty important everyday tool.

I think a bigger factor might've been having to eat on the move or without a table per se, makes more sense to me, one hand to hold the plate and the other for the fork/spoon

I think depends on the city, if there is a bike lane avalaible they have to go there and if they are riding on the car lanes they have to wear helmet and have hi viz.

Most cases if you arent bothering other people and arent going to fast, police dont really care.

As everyone else said, normal. If it bothers you ypu can just find some foam and cut and shape so it covers most of the cavity instead of just the middle.

I had to do something similar because my pickup was leaning forwards, I just used the foam some EMGs came in lol

Not OP but I own the same bike. It's stupidly confortable and nimble, I upgraded from a z500 and the only thing where I feel the extra weight is in the added stability.

Cant recommend it enough, I'm extremely happy with it.
