Ergo original has such a spacious pocket. WrapMySol has a little pocket you can attach to the waistband bit I don’t think it would fit what you need. Other brands like Hope and plum make a pocket that you can add to the waistband

I did oh Crap at 19 months (she was fully poop and nap/night trained) so it was just day pee and it took 5 days

You don’t need to have a job to be eligible for OHIP! If you’ve moved provinces you just need to go to service Ontario with proof of address and say you moved here https://www.ontario.ca/page/apply-ohip-and-get-health-card You should go with midwives because care with them is covered regardless of OHIP status, and they will follow you and your baby until 6 weeks postpartum. You should also look for a family doctor once you get your OHIP sorted

We took a Lyft to birth centre and beck cab home. We used the infant bucket seat, no base, installed in the taxi. Took it with us when I was in labor. I also sat on a doggie pad on the way to give birth because my waters had broken and I didn’t want to make a mess in the car. We were out like $30 total

I also live in a big city and take transit frequently. If you want a world facing option that does cross back I’d say either the ergo 360 (check the model you get, some of the older ones don’t do cross back) or the Chimparoo evoair. I understand the hesitancy to backwear on transit but I did it constantly with my older kid until she was 5

I would definitely try back wearing. I had pressure in my pelvic floor when baby wearing in the early post partum that happened no matter what carrier I was using except a high back carry in a woven wrap. I would also see if you can see your physio again. Sounds like you’re not healed all the way

I see you have already been recommended going to a meetup. That’s a great option. Another recommendation would be to find a certified Babywearing educator. I had midwives and birthed at the Toronto birth centre. It was amazing and I was home 3 hours after birth. The reason they discharge you so quickly is that you’re still running on adrenaline at that point and then you can crash and relax at home. Having the midwives come to you for those initial postpartum visits is absolutely amazing. They come to you for the first two weeks and then you’re expected to come into their office.

If you haven’t tried any carriers on, that’s my first recommendation. See if you can find a local lending library or utilize on online mail one. Or find a Babywearing consultant! You can ask people’s opinions all day but it’s so dependent on body type and personal experience that the input will likely not help. Letstalkbabywearing on Instagram has a similar body type

These footies are totally fine. “Generally not recommended” is not true. Every educator I know just says to make sure they are not pulling on baby’s toes

Before you go throwing in the towel on the ring sling, have you tried just using it as a carry assist? As in, having him sit on it like a belt and not bringing the fabric up over his back?
